This game is just screaming for a invasion mechanic like DeS/DkS or Watchdogs.
Public event are fun, but maybe a few of those large "arenas" should allow invasions from fire-teams of 3 against everyone else. Shooting an invader keys you into the PvE public event. On the invasion side Invading is risk/reward and you have to put up loot that your team might lose. The better the loot, the more of a HP buff you get against the room. Win and you get a lot of points and possibly a rare item.
Others can figure out the invasion win scenarios but was thinking maybe an assassination game type where the invaders try to assassinate a randomly chosen player in the room. This wouldn't be every area, but a chosen arena in the larger world and maybe a few specfic 3/6 player strikes.
Just something more to shake it up.
