Where in Old Russia are the ?? leveled enemies? Haven't seen those yet

Go into one of the small buldings near the starting point of the explore mission, there should be stairs that go down further and then you'll run into them, and then say "nope" and leave as quickly as possible or try to run past them

Well, I am turning it off and calling it a night. Got some GoT to watch and a kid to put to bed.

Congratulations Bungie! The hype machine that began at unveiling kind of got killed off a bit with each new video that popped out where people screamed, " omg looks generic " , " omg looks so boring! ". But with this Alpha, faith renewed. My hype is even higher now then it ever had been before. I knew if this game was put together just right, by this team, it could be something truly special. And it looks like that will be the case some September.

Bungie should be proud of this work. Now all you have to do is cram it full of content and I'm there day 1. Will likely skip Beta so I can refresh my mind of everything I experienced here during this blessed Alpha weekend and jump in with the rest of the world in a few months.

SOMEONE PUT ME INTO A TIME MACHINE!

Even from the new video i can tell that the Alpha is probably already a 2-3 month old build which is a massive difference to their current build based on where they are in development. Plus they probably want to bring servers down and prepare for beta as it really isn't that far away and their servers are going to be under even more stress then with the addition of many more PS4 users, PS3, 360 and One.

What? No. It makes no sense that the alpha would be an old build. How are they going to find bugs with there developement branch if we are playing code from 3 months ago. That is not how alpha's/beta's work. The only way this would be the case is if this was just a demo they were calling alpha.

This is like the Titanfall beta. Time for the painful withdrawal to set in. At least we'll get another fix in a month. Can't wait to see what's in the beta.

I'm not going to miss my character, but I will miss the heaps of emblems that I bought/earned.

Had a lot of fun in this Alpha, and overall it was a very smooth experience.

Things I hope for in the beta and obviously full game is the ability to invite other friends into your Free Roam beyond the 2 in your fireteam. I get limiting the fireteam, but there should still be a way to invite other friends and their fireteam in. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I couldn't find a way to do that. Also, and this could have been because of the limited number of players in the Alpha, I wish more people would appear in your free roam. It feels like you are wondering around and rarely encounter others. The Strike and Crucible are handled really well, but the Free Roam needs to be better populated IMO. Also the frequency of World Events seemed really low, and it that would be a great way to bring players together. Announce a world event and then give players a few minutes to get to the location. These should occur once an hour or two, or perhaps that is too frequent? I don't think so because an hour or two will be about the longest most people will hang around one Free Roam map.-

Moonlight reflecting on the water and aurora borealis:

One thing I like about that particular pool of water is that it DOESN'T use screen-space reflections.

When SSR in Destiny can't find something to reflect, the game instead displays a planar reflection rendering a simplified version of the scene. Usually the game is switching (very obviously) between these two things, but that particular pool only uses the planar reflections even when SSR ought to find something to reflect. It's visually stable, and manages to look pretty good even though it's not a "complete" reflection of the scene.

The one thing I would love to see added, which probably could not be done until an expansion or destiny 2, is the pull up mechanic on a ledge like in Titanfall.

So does anyone have any idea if this will have split screen on next gen/xbone? If not, I need to change my order to a 360 version and order another for my wife.

Would be nice if they'd clear this up!

Another neat thing I found was an event where these big black ships creep in out of nowhere and drop dudes while you stay in this small area to defend.

I never saw ?? enemies but I found lvl 11 enemies in a cave near the beach and all my attacks did 1 damage -_-

Hope that's a setting for the alpha, because I want to be able to try and take on high level enemies for some extra challenge -- 1 dmg is bullshit.

I did that event twice over the course of the Alpha. It was pretty fun.

I ran into them before I had leveled up at all, and didn't stand a chance. I went back to them as a Level 7 or 8 with a much better weapon and dispatched them all.

They already said split screen is not happening on any platform.

Anyone run into a full blown war between The Hive and The Fallen? There were Hallowed Knights and Orbs and everything blasting the shit out of each other. Some randoms popped up and helped me mop up, but it was chaotic as hell lol.

Yeah, I had that happen earlier. It was pretty nuts.

I wanted to like Titan, but..

Where's the extra armor? Both my Warlock and my Hunter ended up having better armor and I'm pretty sure I put the most time into the Titan. I really didn't notice a difference between the classes in terms of survivability (PvE and PvP).

I got all 3 to lvl 8 and my favorite was Hunter. Golden Gun is fucking great in PvP -- so satisfying blasting away 2-3 dudes BLAM BLAM BLAM. Throwing knife is more useful than super charged melee that the other classes have and I also didn't like how the other classes had no control over when their melee special would trigger. If the Titan/Warlock melee ability was available, it'd get used -- whereas the hunter throwing knife only triggered when you weren't in melee range so I actually got to take advantage of it. Also preferred Hunter's grenades.

Though I'll want to check out the skill trees for all the classes' subclasses before I decide what to roll, Hunter is in the lead right now.

I JUST discovered Forgotten Shore. GTFO Bungie!!! <3 this game. This game better be actually MMO sized come release.

Re: Titan armor

I might be wrong, but I noticed that the "red zone" health of the Titan is the highest of the three classes. Maybe this reflects the Titan's inherent toughness?

Anyone else see this? Its called a Shrieker. It was hard to get a good shot cuz it kills you so fast.

Forgive the compression, I am using twitter shots.

That's dumb. I shouldn't have to be a certain level to kill something -- I should be able to overcome the stat disadvantage with skill/patience.

There are level 20 ones in an underground area you pass during the 'go to the building with the dish' part of the story mission, just before you get told 'this place must have been something back in the day'

It's a shack with a broken down truck next to it, go in and down the stairs, round a corner and then die as a big bastard with a sword comes after you while two more with guns shoot some arcing weapon. Never managed to move their health meters a bit, even with two level 8s with good weapons focus firing the melee guy.

There are also some higher level guys if you follow a really long path to the right of the 'dish building on the cliff' spot, past a waterfall and then through a ship graveyard of some kind.

I explored the place a ton, but I'm not sure if I'm excited for retail or not. The gameplay is decent (not really happy about Legend not seeming to do anything but make boss mobs a bullet sponge) but the loot is sub-par for a loot treadmill style of game. Put a ton of time in and never had that 'OMG LOOK AT THIS GUN/ARMOUR' moment even once - the dropped loot was meh, and the random lootable chests didn't yield a thing worth keeping at all.

Anyone else experience some problems with the netcode in pvp? Sometimes during peak times of the night my ping is in the ~60s and I swear my shots do zero damage sometimes but my opponents can pick me off instantly.
