This may have been answered already but I'm curious: Can you walk all the way to the far-off mountains in the distance? This may have been blocked in the alpha but I'm hoping in the final release the matra will be: If you can get there, you can go there.

Well after 'this certain' amount of time, I am definitely going to be in the BETA and the final game :)

Wow, you played quite a bit (just shy of 29 hours) :P

I played a lot more than I realized: 14 hours!

Crucible and Explore quite even at the top in playtime, followed fairly close by Strike...and then a little bit of Story.

Let's see the video.

I don't care if you don't believe me. I didn't click 'upload video' when I clicked the share button because I was taking a checkpoint and afraid of dying at the hands of a warlock, sadly. But, I have proof for you, I will post some stuffs for you once I get home from work :)
I just hope Bungie is not deleting everything by today, I didn't get a screen cap of it yet :/

The alpha made a point in not having a hint of actual story and context to it, I wouldn't judge anything about the game's script, story or context until we actually have some of it. IMO it's been awesome stuff from the trailers and other pre-release content. That lore that's trickled out there if you look for it also helps in the exploring sections, giving context and a bit extra wonder to that exploration.

For the strike I don't know what game you're playing man. The bullet sponginess from enemies comes from either not going in well equipped or tacking the bosses in an inefficient manner. If done right they go down in a reasonable amount of time.

Bad A.I? Seriously what game were you playing!? Looked like classic best in the industry Bungie A.I. on display to me, especially on the strike. In explore they're more scattered around and easier to take care of but when set up like in the Devil's Lair they were damn good.

Mooks would try and flush you out of cover for the snipers, captains would press their advantage if they took your shield and would retreat if they lost their own until iit recharged, saw someone throw down an AoE grenade ability at some melee enemies and they would retreat around it and take another path to get to the player all while swarming to try and overwhelm a specific player instead of scattering... just to name a few examples off the top of my head.

The bosses definitely have some sponginess even when you're hitting their critical points. Also saying that being overgeared is an appropriate response to enemies being spongy isn't really addressing the problem, especially as I feel this will be a big issue in endgame. There have been numerous cases of people running out of ammo on the Walker and the last boss in Lair just takes an insane amount of damage even when you're hitting his crit areas.

The AI for the enemies on Legendary in Devil's Lair was awful. Multiple times I had enemies stand still while I attack them from behind. Other times they when I would rush them I would slam into a group and dash out before they did anything. The AI is extremely slow at times to react to stuff. I took multiple potshots to some of the snipers while they just stood there. I can think of numerous cases during the 'defend the base' area in Lair. Also during the Walker segment there were a bunch standing out in the middle of nowhere. The AI isn't on the high end.

The only times I died during a Strike were when enemies spawned behind us out of those monster closets that Bungie threw everywhere, or if I was doing something especially stupid.

Woah mate, that's insane. I don't know what you were using as your special weapon (I myself carry a sniper rifle at all times), but that sounds amazing. Getting on a good run like that is difficult, but you sure as hell pulled it off. My biggest problem as a Hunter in the Crucible are the titans and their shotguns though. I've had a lot of big moments ruined by them coming out of nowhere. That really seems to be one of the upcoming strategies that everyone will hate. It is why I normally stand back and work as a scout, guarding at least one of the points while my team tries to grab the others. I don't always have a high score, but it is a great strategy.

Like position C on Flood lands is a great perch if it is set up correctly. So is the outer area near B. I like to transition between them. Early on, before people got smarter, I was holding C and just blowing everyone out as they came out of A. Headshots constantly, and then I would go back to refresh. In my third match, I am pretty sure I went through the entire team at least 3 times, but then they found a way through from that watery zone that is in my blind spot. I threw my grenade near the staircase and jumped down, and they all fell for it. I went in and threw my knife in a survivor and then went on toward B. Ironically, most of them decided not to go near C after that.

Sorry if my story was eh, all of my potentially great moments were gunned down in shotgun shells.

It doesn't matter Bro, all stories are meant to be heard by friends, epic or not. It was your moment!
Come play with me come BETA and I will teach you a lot more ways you can kill people quickly in Crucible matches :)

I'm going to be posting some of my memories and great adventure when I get back from work, be on the lookout for that.

I have the devil walker down to about 25% health and am completely out of ammo and enemies aren't respawning. :/ I guess I'll just toss grenades until I kill him.

And I thought this ended yesterday lunchtime for some reason. :'(

Only managed to get an our or so in, but it was enough. Tempted to pre-order, although I have no major interest in the beta so perhaps I'll just pick it up at launch.

Always bring consumables into battle. They let you fully replenish your ammo stock for one of your weapons.

HOLLY SHIT, withdrawal redeemed!

Dinklage voice acting kind of lacks energy. But at least I can understand each and every word.

However - when loading into the Devil's Lair, it sounds like Lance Reddick (Broyles from Fringe) is trying to give some background. And I swear to god, I cannot make out what he is saying one bit. That is either some bad recording or simply slurred lines.

I can live with Dinklage, even if his presentation lacks passion. The moon wizard line was pure gold though.

After hitting level 8, the weapons I dismantled started dropping weapon part items.

Which leads me to believe there is going to be some manner of crafting in this game. Another awesome thing to get this game for.

Crafting is my weakspot.

How are you guys getting these no HUD and panorama shots?

Find a nice spot, sit with your back against a wall or something, move the camera so your character is removed and it's almost first person, centre camera on the area, then press options to go into your inventory, once there press options again to exit and share right after, pretty much options then share as quickly as you can.

How are you guys getting these no HUD and panorama shots?

This shot was a compilation of multiple images into one.

This type of shot is generally made like this:
  • Sit down somewhere that you can get your character completely out of frame.
  • Pause and unpause, but quickly press share/ use capture device as you exit.
  • If do it correctly you will have a 1920x1080 image without a hud (be sure that it isn't faintly visible or anything).
  • I then edit the image on my computer and remove the ALPHA information at the top right.
  • Result is a 1920x800 2.40:1 image.

It helps to change the share settings so that screenshots only take one press of the share button.

Where is Ping status in Crucible multiplayer?

I couldn't find anything about ping status in Ghost mode while playing multiplayer.

Am I missed? or It actually not exist?
