Goal differential then goals scored, depending on how Italy beats CR, England would need to win by 2 at most.

not that things are looking good for england, but this is still a much better situation than you'd expect after losing the first two matches. italy winning their two matches (unless they want to fuck england over) is not that unlikely at all, and it's not like it's that unthinkable that england will beat costa rica.
