Lmao is this for real? I'm not at home and won't be for around 2 days (at a festival). Summary of the game anyone?

Enjoy watching the underdogs win while it lasts, I'll definitely skip their shitty round of 16 matches. Costa Rica vs Cote d'Ivoir/Greece will definitely be a bummer to watch.
Yeah they fight with heart and run till they fall over dead, but you see nothing great in terms of strategy/tactics with those teams.

Long balls up front and through passes to the sides followed by crosses. Even Brazil played creatively bankrupt, with Oscar whipping in cross after cross. The fuck am I watching here? Is this Brazil?! South American football used to be flamboyant, it had style, it had great dribblings and precises passes and runs. I've seen nothing of that so far.

So I say fuck this world cup so far. You fucking event mugs, who come out like rats during the WC, talking about salt and piss off again when it's over and the league starts and just have some interest for the sport when the Classico is on again can suck a big fat dick. Fucking cunts.

Something like that.

You know Switzerland sucks when a garbage team like France is beasting.

Joe Hart is a ad whore

this is the most sour part of any international tournament, the following month of having to see your national failures preen around trying to sell you haemorrhoid cream telling you how much the moment counts.

fuck off.

Is there a better way for UEFA to have qualifying?

I was wondering why Switzerland were ranked so high, and I saw the reason, they had a shit qualifying group. How do you prevent that shit of a group happening again?

I've heard suggestions that the microstates should be put into a special pre-qualification group, with only one or two of them going into qualification proper. That would help somewhat.

Happens in African and Asian qualification. Lowest ranked teams in the world like Somalia and Bangladesh n stuff hav to compete in play-off matches to enter the group stages proper.

Depends if there are any rivalries between the teams within conferences / divisions.
For NFL, you would never root for a team within the same division such as AFC North, etc.
I don't think a lot of us (Americans) would root for the Mexican team.

Well I agree with that but now we're talking about something that has to do with fan loyalty to their team. I wanted the Seahawks to lose the Super Bowl but I knew better than to think it could happen, there's nobody that the Seahawks and the Niners couldn't whup in the AFC.

And yeah, we would want Mexico to lose against us. They're in another group right now though so I don't have a problem with them winning as I don't particularly care what they do when they aren't up against us.

Where are these player valuations from?

This thing popped up a few weeks back. I'm guessing probably from transfermarkt which is a decent guide although obviously not gospel. Some players are vastly undervalued (€45m for Aguero.. no way he'd go for less than €80-100, €52m for Suarez.. again, a similar figure as Aguero) in the current market but it's a fairly good resource.
