If Germany beats USA by less than two goal difference and Portugal beats Ghana by two goals or less, USA will advance. Same applies if Ghana and Portugal draw regardless of the result between USA and Germany.

I'd expect Germany to comfortably win the last game 1-0 or 2-0 but USA still has a very good chance to qualify.

Not interesting at all. Germany and USA are going to tie each other. Done. They can even rest their main players and play for the tie. It's done. Portugal had to win to keep things interesting for all.

I don't think so. Germany always plays to win. If it's still tied near the end of the match, sure, they might stop taking risks. But unless Klinsmann has some connections I'm sure Germany will actually try.
