I watched Him live making his debut in europe, 4 years ago. Porto 1 - 0 Ajax. His goal.[/QUOTE]

Here I am wearing that shirt with James printing (this was during Movember, haha):

They like to party hard, I see. Doesn't sound too much fun.

James is a true 10. Like Zico, Maradona, Zidane. I'm talking about play style not skill level.

I hope he continues to grow and eventually get recognized (for real) as one of the best players in the world.

lol lakers fans always riot after a championship. i have never understood why it happens, but it always does

Your guys played great. It could have gone either way.
There was also a huge Julio Cesar save during the 2nd half.
Brazil had 2 great Hulk plays. Neymar header early in the game.

Bravo is a great keeper. Barcelona made the right choice going after him.

Yeah, I know, that's why I'm not mad.

Next time, I guess.

I'm still a little fucked up about that ball hiting the crossbar...

feel bad for him man...dude really gave it his all that game, don think he would even play the game against Col if they won, he was pretty much playing most of the game with a fuked up thigh, and was still amazing

Germany is going to end that!

Colombia-GAF, I am sorry if I ever use Columbia. In my defense, that's how your country is called in my mother tongue, German ("Kolumbien").

That was some good shit. Grats to Colombia, and better luck to Uruguay for the next time.
I may or may not have fallen asleep now and then, but that wasn't due to the game. I'm just exhausted and sleepy.

In respect for my Chilean brothers. I plan on getting home from vacation tomorrow and winning a World Cup online with them. Hopefully ea updates their ratings to what they deserve

Seriously though, Brazil are going to need a miracle from christ the redeemer to win their world cup. I just don't see them beating Columbia let alone France or Germany. They're lucky Falcao isn't playing for Columbia or I would give them zero chance of winning in their next match.

What's crazy is that usually Brazil's weakness is defense but they have a really good back four now but somehow they're lacking offensively. Fred and Jo are not even close to being world class strikers.

The 3 R/ 4 R era Brazil was the best Brazil ever had offensively speaking.

Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos... legends that they still haven't replaced to this day.

CFs in general have had a rather poor World Cup, which is counterintuitive considering how high scoring (read: poor the back 4s have been) the tournament has been. RVPs really the only striker I can think of that's been consistently good. Benzema too. Higuain, Diego Costa, Fred, and Lukaku didn't/have't done anything.

Don't know if it's a lack of service or a fluke from so many of them not being 100% fit.

Truth is we can't really blame Brazil's problem on Fred, tho. He is a striker. He needs the midfield to create opportunities for him to score.

Brazil's problem is the midfield. It was completelly inexistent for like 60% of the match against Chile, so the team needs to rely on David Luiz long passes. Scolari must do something to calm everybody the fuck down and make them move and pass the goddam ball.

Muller has been good, in the Muller kind of way... not eye grabbing, but efficient.

I'm still fucking devastated, man. It hurts like hell... but, you know what? I'm proud. I'm proud of them boys. They gave their all. They left everything on the pitch. They were playing against the home team, against thousands of people screaming their lungs out against them - a yellow and green and blue tide that threatened to uproot and disintegrate everything in its wake. But they fought.

And while they lost, they never gave up. They were fighting until the end. And they went out with a bang.

I'm devastated, yes. But I'm proud of them. I believed in them, and I still do. They were carrying the weight of their homeland in their shoulders, and they made us proud.

And my new avatar is in honor of GARY FUCKING MEDEL. He's a beast. He played the entire match with a huge-ass strain that left his legs in shambles. He'll be out of the game for 2 months after today. He didn't care. He wanted to play for his country, he wanted to win. He's all passion and guts and fire. He may not be the most technical, the most exciting, the tallest or the strongest. But he has a heart bigger than his own damn country, and for that, we love him. He's a goddamn hero. His tears at the end were the tears of all of us. Of those screaming and crying at the stadium, surrounded by a wall of yellow and green and blue, not feeling intimidated at all. Of those screaming and crying at home, alongside friends or family or total strangers. He cried, and probably most of us did, but we're proud of him. We love him. He's one of us - but we can only dream and hope against hope that we can be as big and passionate as him.

So I'm devastated. I have said it already, but there's no other word to describe my current state. And at the same time, there's something greater to be learned from all this bitterness and anguish. That, somehow, if we all believe - then sometimes, even the most impossible of things can be accomplished. Even in the face of armageddon, as someone once said.

I'm proud of them. I'll never forget.

Hulk should play as their striker, he has the physique and the ability, just not the height, but this is a coach that used not so tall strikers when he managed Portugal.

Someone else could go on the wing, remove Fredge and keep Joe away.

Respect, man.

I've said before, the 2 teams are in the same level. It could have gone either way.

Yeah. I mean Muller sort if playing up top for the Germans, but he's more of a 10 than a 9. They're really playing strikerless for the part.

I'm one of Muller's biggest fans. Love this German team and think they're favorites with the way that Argentina's back four has looked and Brazil's inability to connect in the box.

Dani Alves is really one of the most fucking frustrating players to watch in this sport though. He's so transcendentally talented, but he has way too much faith in his ability to bomb away at goal. There were at least three chances that I remember where Brazil had numbers (and most importantly, HEIGHT) in the box, and they were wasted by Alves or Hulk just bombing away at the keeper instead of sending in a decent cross.

The thing with this Brazil team is that you can totally see this team scoring 4 on France or Argentina as Marcelo and Alves charge up on the touchlines, but god damn they also play like lazy fucks for no reason.

Too many teams playing false 9s or strikers as wide men. Higuain is stuck out in the wing for example, when he is useless outside the 18 yard box.

For the sport in general, it feels like CAM has been the glamour position for at least the past 10 years. Maybe just more openness to the idea that scoring doesn't have to come from up top. That period of time immediately after the Ronaldo/Raul/Henry renaissance.

I feel like a lot of managers have fell in love with false 9s and one flair AM when it doesn't suit the players they have.

Seen it repeatedly with sticking poachers out in the wing to facilitate the use of a false 9. When it would make much more sense to either drop the poacher completely and use a real winger or play the poacher up front with creative guy feeding him.

I know coaches would never down play their team but the fact that scolari said this was as good, if not better, than the 2002 team is pretty funny.

The team isn't bad, it's just lacking experience and a solid midfielder to control the game. That was sorely missing in the second half.

But yeah, that 2002 comparison... at least the defenders are better, I guess.
