Destiny: Ghost Edition revealed [Collector's]

Limited Edition is a great deal, Ghost Edition seems like a huge ripoff since you are paying $50 for just the Ghost replica. It doesn't look like it's worth that much.
 
I usually buy physical CEs for games I'm this excited about, but... a Ghost replica with flashing lights and "push here to hear me speak" button? The fuck? I'm not 12, Bungie.

Will be buying the Digital CE though as soon as it's available.
 
This is exactly why I didn't preorder Destiny right away on PSN. I figured there might be some sort of collector's edition. what happens to those who preordered vanilla but want to upgrade to the collector's edition?
 
oh for gods sake GAME exclusive again? how do a company consistently hated by consumers, who are only surviving bankruptcy by the skin of their teeth consistently get the exclusive rights to this sort of stuff?

fine they are the main high street game retailer in the UK, but given their record the simple answer is not make this exclusive to anyone in the UK



now its miss out or begrudgingly give them my money
 
I normally would not do this but... with this game, i really feel like it's something special and worth the money

I am having a hard time with this decision. I really want that ghost model for my desk at work.

but its really $50 just for that correct? is that the only difference?

Yeah, I'll pass. I would have opted for the limited because of the expansion pass if I hadn't already pre-ordered the base game on the cheap.

Lol the first part isn't true. The answer to how they get exclusive stuff is because they have built really good relationships with publishers/suppliers, especially now. Before they went under before that was one of the main issues they had

Yeah, or get the $99 edition which apparently comes with everyone except the physical ghost replica... I agree $50 more is a bit much :) But I just feel like I need this :o

Being a huge GoT fan doesn't help.

perhaps i embellished a bit there, not skin of their teeth, they are surviving well....but i'm never going to view any company that has to downsize on that scale, is saved from bankruptcy at the 11th hour, and still doesn't learn the lessons of over pricing in a particularly favorable light....that and i loved Gamestation and they raped and pillaged that company

I wonder how they maintain such good relationships considering the generally negative view consumers have of them.

I've never bought their "overheads" excuse for their pricing, when other games stores can offer lower prices.

You'd be surprised how many grown-up geeks love to collect toys. Expensive ones, even.
 
150 is expensive even for a collector's edition, no? I guess the expansion packs are what's inflating the price.

They have gotten a bit better with prices to be fair. Launch day are still a bit high but they do reduce prices a lot quicker than in the past, especially online. Working in a store it is pretty frustrating that they often charge more in store than online though

Plus the old Gamestation CEO has been the boss since the buyout, and he has been amazing at building relationships. The stuff they get exclusive, they sell really well, and that's why they get it a lot of the time
 
Pre-ordered the Ghost Edition. Last CE I thought I get was the Dark Souls 2 CE and then I just cancelled it... but this... Well I still have time to cancel it.
 
So assuming digital deluxe version up on PSN store tomorrow? Wanna make sure I'm in for the beta and hey $5 off is $5 off.....

The only difference between the Limited and the Ghost Edition is the Ghost and a couple skins. That thing better fly for an extra $50

Hmm... had some PSN credit so pre-ordered Destiny after playing the stellar alpha. Wondering if users such as myself will get a chance to upgrade our purchase to the digital collectors edition on PSN? Do not think i am able to cancel pre-orders on PSN anyway lol.
