Every time I skipped ahead, the guy died. That's like... a 5 second average lifespan? Jesus...
Camera doing an admirable job picking up that CRT, haha.
Ah yes, the desperate last minute grenade throw. I remember that being the most actually effective in Reach if I remember correctly.
If CE gets a more than decent population and the netcode is better than PC's, I won't think twice about buying it.lmfao People are in for quite a delight with this game. SO MUCH POWER!!
Although it most likely won't happen, it would be awesome if CE came out on top for population numbers. Regardless, I'm sure the competition will be fierce once word starts spreading about advanced tech/strats.

Yeah, but in Reach alot of the maps have narrow hallways, and the grenades themselves are close to CE's level of powerful grenades, except they go off almost instantly.Pretty handy in 3, as well. Just got a triple kill with that tactic not even an hour ago.

doesnt matter because of those narrow hallways I mentioned, and the slower default walking speed of Reach, but yeah thats true. The blast radius is one of the smallest though, iirc
Nah, Reach's blast radius and splash damage were more than Halo 2&3, but less than CE. What sucked about them is that the base movement in Reach wasn't great (poor strafe, walk speed, jump height) combined with the aforementioned narrow hallways and very short fuse time. The blast radius is one of the smallest though, iirc
That was comical. The first few weeks of MCC are going to be pros stomping on casuals.

Already paid in full. So fucking ready for the king.
Mine will be too, as soon as digital preorders goes live.
I'm not sure how you could think the Pistol in CE was overpowered unless you or one of your friends was some sort of precision savant. It's not like it was easy to 3 shot in that game. Sure the potential TTK was really really low, but ripping off three-shot kills all game wasn't exactly common unless you have people just standing still or running in a straight line while getting shot. Hitboxes were really small, move/strafe speed were fast, targets at range had to be lead. It took a lot of skill.
The vast majority of the playerbase of Halo 3 was at that skill level (meaning walking in a straight line while being shot) at launch. I got an Overkill my VERY FIRST lonewolves game in Halo 3. That was when there were only 5 players in the match, meaning I killed all 4 of the other players in the game quick enough to get an overkill in my very first friggin match on launch day.
Am I a god at Halo? No, not by any means. In fact I think I'm pretty trash at it. Hell I only ended up making it to rank 46 in team slayer and 44 (IIRC) in lone wolves, because after a while the skill gap kicked in and as I made my way up the ranks I was playing against people flat out better than me.
But the vast majority of the playerbase is probably more like a legit rank 20-25. That means oodles and oodles of 3 shot kills if they dare to step foot into CE's playlist. Not to mention if they're in the variety playlist and just finished a game of H3 or H4 and aren't ready to switch gears into H1's sandbox at the drop of a hat.
Rest assured if the 'pro' Halo players, of which sadly I am most definitely not one, return to Halo on XB1, they are going to be utterly decimating people in H1 and H2, because Reach and Halo 4's training wheels will be off.
I can't wait for them to be implemented and I would hope its ready by this holiday. My only issue would be if they make me wait till 3am instead of 12am (I'm EST). If I have to wait Il get it physical and switch to digital at a later point.

Sounds glorious.
If you're one of those players I mentioned, and you see me in there, all I ask is that you be gentle (or at least use lube).

It shouldn't really be an issue once ranks normalize.

I think you're forgetting 'alt accounts'. I can't count how many times I saw people at low ranks in H2 and H3 trolling people by creating an alt account while I was working my way up the ladder. (Also derankers in H2)
did CE even have grenades?
all i remember were handheld nukes.
As long as they dont spoil the FRIGGIN ENDING OF THE GAME in the vidoc again...Man, I really wish someone from 343i would confirm whether or not we are going to get vidocs for TMCC and/or Halo 5. It's really upsetting that Bungie isn't really doing them for Destiny. Halo vidocs were always the best
Which game are we talking about and what vidoc? As long as they dont spoil the FRIGGIN ENDING OF THE GAME in the vidoc again...
How could this vidoc ever be released, did nobody take a look what page of the script they are showing in the camera!?

Personally I don't see the point. I mean if you're playing at that level surely you want to play against equal opponents to have a fun match, but maybe they just jump on an alt from time to time for the 'lolz'.
There will be tears shed in H1 and H2's playlists, rest assured.
hahah and it sure didn't help that Bungie allowed 8 grenades to be held at a time (4 of each), while being around the map in bunches of 4did CE even have grenades?

Personally, I'm hoping people will be driven to be great at CE if the proper media outlets and gaming figures stream matches and produce content.-snip-
Reach Anniversary Magnum had a good amount of aim assist, very fast ROF, hitscan, 8 shots, insane accuracy, etc. -- It was nothing like the CE Magnum. It should also be noted that when the uber-magnum made an appearance in Reach, even as bad as I've become at the game due to lack of playing/practice, I would literally play all day not picking up a single other weapon and just run around wrecking people with it. I shouldn't have been able to do that at my skill level, but yeah...
A lot of people lump the two games together when talking about skill gaps, but Halo 2 was arguably the easiest Halo game in the series.Rest assured if the 'pro' Halo players, of which sadly I am most definitely not one, return to Halo on XB1, they are going to be utterly decimating people in H1 and H2, because Reach and Halo 4's training wheels will be off.
Never forget.

might have been the easiest to play, but the best players still dominated and there was an actual skill gap
Ogre 2 was god, Final Boss pooped on people and Carbon pooped on everyone besides FB

Oooh I hope there's Banshees on Blood Gulch too.
Every game has some sort of skill gap. What I was pointing out was the comparison between CE and Halo 2 which was pretty well known* back then.might have been the easiest to play, but the best players still dominated and there was an actual skill gap

Yes I did, a lot. The skill gap from a pro who can consistently button combo (most difficult thing in H2 was quad shotting IMO, and that wasn't even too difficult as long as you were conscious of learning through frequently failed battles that you know/accept you would have won otherwise, so not letting the mentality of "well shit, people will think I suck if I don't have 50 kills this game so I won't put as much emphasis on learning to be consistent with it" take over is what players needed to work through -- In other words, if people put in the little effort, even the most difficult tech in Halo 2 doesn't widen its skill gap all that much IMO) was not the massive leap as it was in CE.You didn't actually play H2 against pros did you?

*When I say well known, I'm referring to the people who had the years of experience with both games. Not the types of people who never played CE yet shat on it for having an OP Pistol because that's what they were told.

For example, if the Play A Pro thing was held for Halo 2, I'm sure we would've seen someone get higher than a frikkin 2 (that's TWO) in a 1v1 against Ghostayame lol
Halo 4. One Vidoc showed the page of the script where the multiple cortanas are attacking the didact and chief pushing him into death/Space, the ending of the game...Which game are we talking about and what vidoc?

That was as much as an ending as halo 2's, which I don't call an ending but a disrupt in the final chapter.
