All the "Oh Lebron is such a great guy NOW" posts are pissing me off. He has always been a great guy. He has matured tremendously in the last few years and it has been noticeable for years now. But nooooo your damn irrational idiotic hate for the man has not let you seen that.
The narrative will last a year or two, until people outside Cleveland stop caring and ESPN needs to create another LeBron story. It'll be back to beating the legacy drum soon enough. People might forget, but he was getting criticism even while he was in Cleveland the first time. I think he knows that though. He really doesn't deserve all the hate he gets. I wouldn't expect us to applaud when he returns, but I hope we don't boo. PEACE.

The Q will be the best atmosphere in sports again. Man it is awesome to have that back again. The rest of the country that slams Cleveland and never been here and never experienced that have no idea what we lost and why the city was so crushed. I bought a house in Cleveland, work in Cleveland... I'm so happy for this city. Too awesome.

it is, this whole legacy thing is so corny

I honestly hope the cavs fail as a franchise. I hope cavs fans are happy the lottery has been rigged for them 4 years running.

This SI letter from Lebron is amazing. Such a mature statement. I'm incredibly impressed.

This dude's image is going to take a gigantic leap forward. His marketing pull will be stronger than ever before.
The man is an incredible athlete and role model. I don't get the hate.

The Heat are not dead. They have more cap room than any team in the league now and their owner cares about winning. They will rebuild
If we can't get Melo and convince Bosh to stay with him, I think I'd rather tank. I don't want to field a bunch of mle level guys, but I'm not really sure if I want another 15 win season either. LOL. There has to be a third option besides tresdmill or lottery. PEACE.

For those looking for a bit more detail on why this is a big deal--

  1. Lebron grew up around Cleveland, was a high school basketball star in that area. Then played on the Cavs for years. He became an NBA superstar while playing in Cleveland and carried that team on his back to the finals (but they didn't win because he was pretty much a one-man show. He was frustrated with not winning).
  2. With the help of the media, it turned into a HUGE deal, his decision about where to go when he was a free agent in 2010.
  3. ESPN turned it into a TV show, "The Decision." Lebron went on the air to reveal that he decided to go to leave Cleveland and go to Miami.
  4. Cleveland fans felt betrayed. Meanwhile Lebron went to Maimi, starting partying with his new teammates, guaranteed multiple championships, and basically just kind of rubbed it in Cleveland's face. (I'm editorializing a bit with this one.)
  5. Cleveland is the opposite of Miami. Blue collar city, and has had terrible luck in all major sports for decades. Miami is glitzy, had more money to get more support for Lebron.
  6. Lebron and the Heat won two titles in 4 years while Cleveland immediately tanked and has been bad ever since he left.
  7. The fans in Cleveland hated Lebron for choosing Miami, burned his jersey in the street, etc.
  8. Lebron is better than ever at basketball at this point in time. Any team would give anything to have him.
  9. Lebron had another chance in 2014 to become a free agent, which he did.
  10. For weeks people have been wondering where he'd go. Eventually it came down to Cleveland vs. Miami again.
  11. He has chosen to go back to Cleveland.
  12. Cleveland will apprently forgive him because...what else do they have?

Just kidding with that last one. I actually live in Ohio.

Yeah they're immediately contenders and even though he denies it in his letter, I'm sure deep down he thinks they can win it all next season.

The best thing LeBron can do it help Kyrie's maturation. Since LeBron will obviously command the team, Kyrie can actually be a real PG now.

Good for him. Too bad he has to deal with that shit clown Dan Gilbert. Hopefully he can overcome that and still get a title.

My thoughts exactly.
