Are the McROB and Granger signings official or were they verbal commitments? If verbal...

The essay was a masterpiece. Best part is he understands winning a championship next year is slim because it's a young team and needs time to develop, but he's still up for the challenge.

That's an overall record of 880-640 (.579). The overall playoff record under them is 114-83, same winning percentage. In 19 seasons under Micky Arison's and Pat Riley's leadership the Miami Heat have accomplished

16 playoff appearances
11 division titles
7 trips to the conference finals
5 conference titles
3 NBA titles
A 27 game win streak, second longest in all professional North American sports

The following players have been named to All-NBA teams, NBA All-Star teams, or All-NBA defensive teams, or won major individual awards when playing for the Miami Heat in this era:

P.J. Brown (defense)
Alonzo Mourning (multiple)
Bruce Bowen (defense)
Tim Hardaway (multiple)
Anthony Mason (all-star)
Dwyane Wade (multiple)
Shaquille O'Neal (multiple)
LeBron James (multiple)
Chris Bosh (all-star)

We've missed the playoffs only 3 times under their leadership. Of the 3 lottery picks, we nailed 2 of them. We've bounced back stronger than ever after every contending window built here falls apart. These are FACTS.

Look guys if this were the Dolphins I'd be suicidal but I'm always optimistic with the Heat because they've been a class organization under Riley and Micky.

Dear God, Miami sports radio is in shock right now. Upset that Gilbert apologized to LeBron in private and not publically with a big press conference. Heat fans calling in and calling him a "fraud," unable to understand why he'd go back and play for a guy as bad as Sterling, according to them. In despair about their roster right now.

Lololollololo

I don't want to listen to them quite yet (I'll wait for the highlights), but I want LeBatard's local hour like YESTERDAY. That's going to be fun. Imagine if it had gotten announced during then.

The coach is a joke though...

Spoelstra wot

NO.

I just hears Russillo said he was going to talk to a Miami guy, I expected Dan. Stugotz is a fake miami guy. OMG he is going to ruin everything. The shit he will say.

This is like Stugotz' dream come true.

HE'S GOING TO RUIN IT ALL WESKER

seriously, this - grateful for the time we had with dude
at least now all the lesser cities will have to find different reasons to hate on glorious miami too

Yup yup.

So what he won two rings. Now he can go back and hopefully win at least one more in CLE so he can move up that top 10 ranking.

Basically yeah. The monkey is off his back, and he is one of the greatest to ever play period. He can do whatever he wants. No one that matters cares about him leaving. He is a two time champion.

Isn't the rumor that Riles is leaving after this season.

Wrong he is playing ya like a fiddle

he knows LOVE, Miller and others big players! Are coming!

notice he didnt even mention Wiggins haha

that slim boy getting traded

I gotta admit, it's a pretty mature move. It would have been too easy to say to hell with them after all the shit that went down. It really got over the top and I wouldn't blame him if he remained bitter. But he stepped up and is being a bigger man about it.

Sure he still wants to win, but he certainly could have attempted that in a lot of places. Permanently abandoning the haters would have been the easy way, but it's an interesting lesson instead. Not just for him, but for those with the ridiculous amount of outrage over a basketball decision.

Now that would be a death blow. Lebron we knew would probably leave one day. No Riley and everything falls apart. I know he has been grooming a replacement but it will never be the same. Its hope he stays long enough to fix the ship and then leaves us when we have a plan of some sort. He can't leave now.

Is he? He is extremely well regarded by experts and players alike. To me it is the first smart coaching decision I have seen Cleveland make. If my team announced his hiring I would honestly be ecstatic. The guy has potential and pedigree to back it.

Yeah, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Blatt. Maybe he'll fail miserably, but lots of smart people seem to think he could do very well here. I've seen some breakdowns of the offensive sets he ran in Europe and they're solid. Could work wonders with the talent and athleticism he'll have in Cleveland.

Damn! Now the Rockets will get Bosh, which makes it tougher for my Blazers. I will also be pissed if Love ends up with the Cavs. The NBA needs more balance, which if its just Lebron and Irving thats fair. IMO

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. I know the tea leaves kind of pointed to this the last couple days, but I still expected something bad to happen. This is Cleveland, something bad always happens when it comes to our sports teams. I've put on my #23 jersey, which was tucked away in a drawer for 4 years. Somewhere in the house is a Mark Price poster I got attending a game at the old Richfield Colosseum. I still have my ticket from the last game Michael Jordan played in Cleveland. I saw LeBron play in high school at the Q. I'm used to disappointment. To free agents spurning us. To guys we drafted leaving. To bad injuries to key players. I'm not used to this.

And I can finally bust out one of my favorite avatars again!

Marc Stein on SC: Kevin Love would re-sign with Cavs should they trade for him.

I think hes also shown that hes matured since "The Decision". Keep in mind he was like 24 when that happened. It takes a big man to choose whats more important for him.

Even though the work was practically done for him to get him there :P
