I'm sure he's in. He's probably an unlockable like the last two games. You can't know what the full roster is until the game is out.

Man, all this Advance Wars talk is getting me down from my Falcon Punch buzz. Can't we all agree it's ridiculous AW doesn't have any Smash characters? It's one of the longest running Nintendo series, having been on (using American console designations) NES, SNES, Game Boy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, and Nintendo DS. AND it had a spin-off release on Gamecube and Wii. I have no idea if it's reliable or not, but a supposed NPD leak had the last two DS games selling around a quarter million each. And as mentioned, it has tons of cool character possibilities. To be represented by just an AT is lame.

Fire Emblem and Pokemon are probably my two least favorite Nintendo franchises in terms of characters, so I'm allowed to be disappointed that we are getting a truckload of them in this game. I don't get why you are being so defensive about this.
I want more Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Starfox, Advance Wars, FZero, Snake to return from Metal Gear, another Sonic character wouldn't be bad.

Marth is the main character in 4 different fire emblems (albeit 2 were remakes), and is pretty influential in the last one as well. He's the iconic FE character.
I'll admit I was shocked that Ike remained (I really though Chrom was going to replace him).
Gematsu had a good run. Hold your head high, Sal.
Cool reveals. Gotta say though, a few too many sword wielders for my liking now. I feel they should have removed Ike if they were going to go nuts with Fire Emblem like this. They had no problem removing Pokemon characters like Mewtwo, Pichu, Squirtle, and Ivsaur to make way for the new hotness. Oh well.

Nintendo and Sakurai are heavily influenced by the Kingdom Hearts series, just look at Brawl, his companies' name, Kid Icarus: Uprising, etc. Not a surprise since KH is one of the most influential and iconic games of all time.

OOOO. Such a good set of reveals. I'm so glad to see a "Serious Fighter" character like Falcon makes his return right after Evo, too.
Some Observations:
I love the way this game is handling it's fan service. Alts with unique voices and other livery (unique taunts, inspiration on alt movesets, etc) is a great idea. I'm very happy with how committed they are to the idea. I always think it's a great way to expand the audience who might use a particular favored moveset.
Some Observations:
- I really hope Lucina uses variations of Marth's moves as her default, if she's a straight clone. It'll give a reason for people to Main her in Tourneys, and make an altered moveset "official."
- I hope Lucina has her mask as an alt. Also, it'd be great if her being a separate character can also give some more Fire Emblem throwbacks a chanced to be referenced. (Nephenee Palette Plox.)
- Robin is also a great idea. I'm surprised no one is calling foul over a "gimmicky" moveset for them. Are the tombs switchable by user, or do they come out in a set order? I'm also really glad to see someone who's so magically-inclined, in a more grounded way than Oh My Goddess Palutena.
- It'd be great if Male and Female Robin both had different race / age? / seriousness alts. Would be a great way to add some look diversity to the playable cast.
- FALCON! PAUNCHHHH! Great to see him back. Really wonder how his unique style moves will turn out. Imagine an instant-use Falcon punch, or one that if weaker, but can activate in different directions?

There's definitely a general magic influence in his reveal that sword in his hand does actually physically attack it's a magic based weapon that summons lightning. Think they turned it into a generic sword for this game though.

I should clarify, just Tails or Knuckles.
He/She is called Daraen in few localizations, because they have to keep the name abiguous. Interesting to note is that, on both the German Smash and the Fire Emblem Awakening site, he/she is refered to as Daraen, even though the ingame default name, if playing in German, remained as Robin. I hope they don't fuck this up when localizing Smash.
Edit: Also, the Japanese name is ルフレ(Rufure/Reflet), so you may have that in mind.

I've seen worse, there are people wanting Snake cut then transplant his moveset to another character (usually an Advance Wars character).

I'm starting to think that perhaps the leaker is someone who works at the company that does CG intros for the new characters. Perhaps that's how he guesses at who will be revealed roster-wise.
