Yeah, with Robin all you have to go on at first glance is a different hairstyle.
Of course you could just use a Name Tag but otherwise...

Just go to a Japanese themed convention and try to find a Lucina cosplayer.
That's another reason I'm hoping for different classes as alts. The tactician uniform's a nice design, but, like Ike's, it wouldn't lend itself too well to colour-only costumes. Hopefully we can get Dread Fighter, Dark Knight and Dark Flier outfits.

No, I mean it works like this. You get, say, 25 Levin Sword attacks, then it breaks and out comes the Bronze Sword, which has 100 attacks, then it breaks and you go back to the Levin Sword, but only way to get it back is to break the Bronze Sword.
Don't forget the Blushing And Surrounded By Sparkles alt

It would be pretty awesome to watch people change strategies as their moveset is altered through out the match. I really like this idea. Could lead to some really tense moments when an opponent has one stock left at pretty high damage and both players know the levin sword only has one attack remaining before the (presumably) just about useless bronze sword kicks in. I'm getting a little nervous just thinking about it.
You'll have to settle for the figma if they ever paint the thing.

Don't know if this has been posted elsewhere but I received an email today with a pre-order offer, what's interesting though is that the two boxarts in the email look somewhat legitimate and not something they would have just thrown together.
I could be wrong, what does gaf think?

That's really weird... why are they so small in Smash? I guess it has something to do with proportions or something.

So you can use the Levin sword even when you still have usable tomes?
From the looks of it you start with full stocks of both and have to wait to regenerate them. So you probably don't want to go all in with melee and magic at the start or you'll be floundering around with nothing but your bronze sword.
...maybe, anyway. Just guessing at this point.
I'm pretty sure they're unrelated. The line in the English trailer makes them sound related ("I can only use them so many times. Which is why I carry my Levin Sword!"), but the line in the Japanese trailer is two seperate points ("There is a limit to their use, though. Also: Levin Sword!").
The trailer says the tomes have limited uses.

Wouldn't he have mentioned if the tomes had limited uses since that was the topic of the pic(s)? It sounds like:
Tomes = Specials (Infinitely usable)
Swords = Normals (Levin -> Bronze while Levin regenerates)
Or am I missing something?

I thought he mentioned that during the video "If my tomes run out, I have my Levis sword!" Sakurai: "If your Levis Sword runs out, you still have a Bronze one."
You can see Robin throwing away an "empty" tome at one point in the trailer.

So taking into account what we know now as well as my own predictions for the rest of the characters, this is my educated guess at what the final roster could look like. (It doesn't take into account characters I'd personally still like to see but don't think have made the cut, like Dixie Kong and Krystal, or popular fan hopefuls like Ridley and K. Rool.)
Notes:
- 48 characters total (and a Random panel makes it 49, so I organized it into a 7x7 grid)
- Assumes the Sal Romano leak is still legit in terms of Shulk and Marshal/Chorus Kids (I think it is)
- One more additional newcomer beyond Sal's: Dark Pit (between his tease at the end of Palutena's trailer and Lucina being a newcomer clone, I think he'll be added as a newcomer clone of Pit)
- Seven(ish) vets are cut: Snake, Pokémon Trainer, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Lucas, Wolf, and the Ice Climbers (Snake and the Pokémon characters for obvious reasons, and the other three are just a gut feeling I've had since early on; I hope I'm wrong, especially about the Ice Climbers!). Assuming I'm wrong about the latter three, that equals 51 characters total, which is a roster I could also see happening.

Hades would be awesome as a legit newcomer, but seeing as Sakurai's said we're nearing the end of the newcomers and we've already gotten one original Kid Icarus newcomer, I don't see another one happening unless it's a clone (i.e. Dark Pit).

If Sakurai cuts the Ice Climbers, one of the most unique character, while adding Lucina and Toon Link, there could be riots in the streets. Not happening.
Dark Pit is a definite possibility though, unless he's a boss. Also I still think we're getting more than 48 characters.
BTW did Salromano say anything about the Shulk thing? I remember he tried to contact the leaker.
I don't think Sakurai is going to add a clone character in the Kid Icarus series and at the same time cut "semiclones" from other series like Lucas or Wolf and what is even worse, removing the Ice Climbers. I definitely have a good feeling about the chances of almost everybody in Brawl returning except for some unique cases like Snake.

I can sort of see Dark Pit as a possible clone, and Shulk and the Chorus Kids are still fairly likely newcomers, but I'm unsure about those cuts. Ice Climbers have been around since Melee, are well-regarded and possess a unique playstyle, and any issues implementing them on 3DS would be less of a problem than those facing Rosalina & Luma. Wolf was intended to feature in Melee before Brawl, but was, like Wario, delayed to the next game because Sakurai felt a clone would not do him justice - this seems to suggest he's not a likely target for culling. Snake is less of a certainty due to licensing issues, but I don't think he would be a planned cut. Lucas seems to have less going for him, but I don't think a unique character who received a decent amount of focus in the previous game would be on the chopping block if they're going out of their way to create more clones.
Now I'm scared of weird bird and wolf men walking around at my height.
I'd very much doubt the Ice Climbers were ever on the chopping block, since they're still getting representation:
If we're extending the logic that "playable reps get enemy representation in Smash Run" toward a Rhythm Heaven rep with the Sneaky Spirit, then the Ice Climbers are probably in there too.

With the Polar Bear as a Smash Run enemy, I think it's more likely we'd get a dumbed down "Ice Climber" character, eliminating the pair up mechanic, than actually cutting the Ice Climbers, if there's some problem with their implementation. We've already seen characters like Sheik and Zero Suit Samus remaining in the game even after the mechanic that justified their presence was removed, after all.
Also, if Dark Pit turns out to be in as a clone too, and not a boss or whatever, I really don't think we're going to get only two new clones. There's a chance Lucina is the only new clone though, but, if there's more than her, I don't think it'd stop with two - especially considering how she seems to resemble Melee's clones more than Brawl's.

Yeah I'm just wondering why Sakurai didn't reference how the tome durability works in the PotD today.
And also, is there photo evidence of the Sneaky Spirit in Smash Run? I've heard it a hundred times and everyone takes it as fact but I haven't actually seen it.
Also, @Ash's roster:
I don't think those characters will be cut at all. Not even Lucas. Snake, probably. And I don't think you mentioned it, but Ivysaur and Squirtle are absent, which I would (unfortunately) agree with.
I think there will be between 50-55 characters, with the only cuts being Snake and Red's other Pokemon.
It weirds me out to know that I'm three inches shorter than a talking bird man.
