For once, everything went smoothly for me! Redeemed the code on EU PSN web store and then the Beta was added to my library on the PS4. The client is downloaded and fully installed. I am now on the character creation screen.

ps4 - just downloaded the client and booted it up without a problem. Downloading the actual beta and it seems to be pretty fast, 10% in less than a minute

Now that some stuff are back to normal, I redeemed one of my codes and the beta's downloading right now.

HAHAH oh come on, that would require some common sense. No, I foresee this happening on launch day too. I mean even companies that see huge launches quite frequently, even they mess it up. I mean it took Blizzard 3 expansions before they either realized how to handle the problem of a lot of players smashing into a server at once.

Iffy servers on launch day memories fade, problems resolve themselves given time, there's really no need for the extra cost.

There is no actual maintenance, that is their canned line for whenever PSN crashes because it is a piece of shit,

PSN probably shouldn't crash just because people are trying to download a beta. What is the launch of a big game going to look like?

If you get the 'CE-34632-8' error code
Go to Settings -> PSN -> Restore Licences
then I shut down my machine (warning this step is probably voodoo)
Started my PS4 and now I have Destiny See you on there GAF!

I restored the license and now my beta is locked and saying it can't connect to the server to verify the license

I got lucky and redeemed the code after 4 tries. Then i just needed to download 180mb and now destiny itself Downloads 10gb.
The Problem is that my Connection is slow and now i can't use standby, so the ps4 has to run for at least 5 hours .
Maybe the game content is coming directly from Bungie Servers and not through PSN.

If it you keep spamming it, it'll work. If you're able to redeem your codes, then you're able to view your PSN download page.

Well, it took a while but I'm finally installing the Beta. I'm at 0.22/10.97 GB In Progress but I'm not planning on playing until later this evening. Just keep at it. I had errors all the way but just wait a second or two and try again. The longest screen was at the Redeem Codes screen in the PS store. It seemed stuck. I hit the PS button and went to my library screen and the Beta was there to download.

0.34/10.97 now. It's gonna take a while lol.

Turn your ps4 then on again, did it and it worked started downloading faster
