Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 10: Against the Odds, We Choose to Hype!

Real leaks don't write out paragraphs and give ample information about their leaker so he can be found by those who would actually know enough to find him, along with also giving themselves an excuse to stall for time while they write up more stuff.

Just knowing this dude is a sound engineer who got fired and who has a family emergency is enough to find him if Namco wanted to.

There's a reason the most legit leaks are usually brief, spread out over long periods, and without any extra information at all. The most reliable leak we've had, had 8 months between emails, and mentioned nothing other than brief, to the point bullets.

New Pork City's problem is a lack of platforms. Most of it was empty space.

Palutena's Temple on the other hand has a huge amount of platforms, but it is so big. It could go Rainbow Cruise style scroller and it wouldn't be out of place lol.

RIP those with a small TV and/or TVs placed far away from seating.

Man that really makes me want another Rainbow Cruise-styled stage.

Think this is Falcon's new forward or up tilt?

In case anyone was up for some more shenanigans from the Smashboards "leaker", here are some of his new claims:

Fake or not, I like the idea of the EarthBound stage being based off the Devil's Machine. However, that seems a little... Dark, to say the least. Saturn Valley still seems like the best choice.

Everything I've heard from this guy sounds too good to be true.
I still think Shulk and Chrorus Boys are the only newcomers left.

In general, I feel that Sakurai wouldn't add a pokemon just to complete the Fire-Water-Grass triangle, and that Septile is not a more popular pokemon over Blaziken, who IMO is the better inclusion in Smash.

Also, I would rather have Sabrina in. Time to have a Pokemon trainer that can actually fight!

I dunno, comparing New Pork City and Palutena's temple directly and they have far more in common with each other layout wise than either does with Temple, the only really well liked big stage in the series. There are more longer, flat spaces than New Pork City, but the major areas of Palutena's Temple are still separated by a lot of empty space and smaller platforms. The central area under the bridge looks particularly terrible in this regard--huge empty area with a couple of presumably moving platforms. It looks like a big pain in the ass just to get anywhere for a lot of the slower characters and those with poor vertical jumping, and then combine that with the random Rumble Falls esque springs and spikes and it really doesn't leave a very good impression.

I wasn't talking about anything he was wearing
Quit this shit, seriously. Just stop.

Ridley: "Sakuraaaaaaaaaiii!"

*the great Sakurai appears in the sky*

Sakurai: "...yes?"

Ridley: "I demand you make me playable in Smash Bros. I am equal to all of the other characters. In fact, I am greater!"

Sakurai: "Hmm... Then prove your greatness."

Ridley: "Name your price!"

Sakurai: "Can you leap past my palm?"

Ridley: "Your palm? ...Your palm? Why, I'm HUGE. Of course I can leap past your palm."

Sakurai: "Very well. Leap past my palm, and you make it into Smash Bros. Fail, and nerds will debate your inclusion only to be crestfallen in a never-ending cycle."

Ridley: "Deal!"

*Ridley cackles maniacally as he hefts his massive frame into the air and sails tens of thousands of miles with one majestic flap of his wings*

*He touches down at the ends of the earth, where only five pillar rise toward heaven*

Ridley: "Ha! The fool underestimated my greatness. I must mark how far I traveled."

*Ridley writes "Ridley 4 Lyfe, lol" on one of the five pillars, and then urinates on it*

(Later...)

Ridley: "I'm back! Now you must let me be playable in Smash!"

Sakurai: "But you didn't jump past my palm."

Ridley: "Yes I did. I even marked it on one of the pill--"

*Sakurai raises his hand and turns his palm outward, revealing Ridley's message written on his index finger*

*Ridley gasps*

I agree on the exclusion of Sceptile. It feels like a connection of dots that isn't really there.

Also, with this game's exclusion of transformation characters and Charizard's solo performance this time around, there hangs a dark cloud over any PT's future in Smash

EDIT: That's not Naruto. This dogshit company will be better off without your non-Naruto decisions.

He spelled Leech Seed wrong.

0/10 wouldn't trust again.

Does anyone think that Eggman will be a boss?

The only site that bans people for fake leaks is Neogaf, other sites just laugh it off. Even here, we post fake roster leaks in order to laugh at it, or spur discussion of what we really want.
I think a large reason for that is the magnitude of disruption is much greater here than other websites.

Is anyone here familiar with the netplay for Melee and Project M? I have a MacBook Pro and was wondering if I could run it. Melee seems to run perfectly, so I bet it could work. How much more demanding is Brawl?

Yep. Well, more like Journey to the Smash, which Journey to the West shamelessly ripped off. Everyone knows the ancient Chinese were psychic and could see the future.

Haha so it was! I actually didn't read your ridley story, was going to when I saw your post wondering if anyone saw your reference, but decided to gamble and see if it was that cause I know you saw Stephen Chow's Journey to the West recently due to that other thread.

Yep, I'm OBSESSED with that movie right now. It might crack my Top Three (Pan's Labyrinth, Amélie, Spirited Away), which hasn't changed since, like, 2007.

That's a good list, Amélie and Spirited away are great. Don't remember much of Pan's Labyrinth though, been a long time since I saw it.

Pan's Labyrinth is actually my fave, although admittedly I haven't seen it in years myself. But it was like a spiritual revelation when I saw it the first time. I was already a huge fan of Guillermo del Toro, but that was del Toro achieving Super Saiyan status.

I vaguely remember it, will have to hunt it down someday and watch it again someday. My favorite movies are Snatch and Redline, but I think that's a little off topic lol.
