WiiU Starfox stage revealed for Super Smash Bros. 4

I am already an oddball as my favorite Star Fox game is Command, so...

Sakurai and Namco will be assisting with Miyamoto's Star Fox after Smash U.

Also yeah, Assault's alright.

Heck no, this is Assault, so it's 10 times better!

Fox better have an Assault alt costume.

Assault is the best StarFox.

Ok let's not say something we might regret in the future, shall we?

Star Fox: Assault's air missions are really fun, but the ground missions really drag it down. They're not bad, but they just get in the way of the game I actually want to play.

I won't let you bear this alone. I remember really enjoying Assault.

Assault was a lot of fun, and I really dug the missions, even the on-foot stuff. The only thing I didn't care for was the brevity and somewhat of a lack of replay value. The presentation was flawless, though.

Still, 64 is king, and it's just one of my favorites in the genre.

I hope it's the large size N64 Great Fox and not the shrunken down version they had in melee with giant characters that would never fit inside it. I always hated that they made it a smaller stage.

I'm hoping that the Arwings have transparent cockpits in this stage, so we can see when
Alfonso
takes over for Fox.

The "furry drama" in Command was so hilarious to me. The game was goofy from top to bottom. I'm not sure I've ever had so much fun with such a bad game, I loved it to bits.

From the look of this screenshot we could be playing on the wings or on the ship itself. I wonder what it is.

Also: Assault was designed infinitely inferior to Lylat Wars. Art, Gameplay, Progression, Multiplayer were all a step back by itself and they added the on foot missions which played worse than Earth Defense. Starfox Adventures was a better game if also heavily flawed.
Seemingly Sakurai seems to be set on picking the worst Starfox design overall AND a map based on the worst console entry.

I'm a bit surprised that there are many Assault fans here. It was my favorite Star Fox game, but I've often heard people say that the non-rail Star Fox game were terrible.

Loved everything about that game except some of the later missions that had terrible checkpoints.

I wish. The music was great, but it was too short and lacked replay value.

Its longer than starfox 64, but not as addictive unfortunately, but that doesnt mean it isnt easily replyable. it made it easy to access all the missions after completing the story.

A Starfox game without branching paths and secret exits is not a Starfox game I want to play.

Let's be honest: it's not like Star Fox has a bunch of games in the series that are really good anyways. There's 64, there's Assault, and...that's it.

Years ago I bought Starfox Adventure and other cheap Gamecube games at gamestop. Opened the box, it was Starfox Assault.

Was that a blessing or curse?

After like the 5 minutes of space shooting I thought it would be I was on an island with dinosaurs wacking things with a stick doing boring stuff, so if you buy your Star Fox games to shoot things in space then it was a blessing.

Pft best starfox is starwing/og starfox.
At least it was a challenging game! And the music!
When will they port/remake it?
SF64 is too easy (even on hard),
adventure is nice but really the worst Rare project (and my god the ending was terrible)
assault was surprisingly nice, it's not bad.
the allrange missions are the best and really capture something rather interesting that could lead to an awesome future for starfox (sadly controls suck...)
command is nice but too easy but interesting gameplay, story is Other M level of terrible.

ot : Great stage for smash

The worst thing to happen to SSB is the gradual shrinking of the StarFox stage. The N64 one was massive, then Melee shrunk it a bit, then by Brawl it was actually just a small shitty stage.

Id be okay with that. I feel they could balance each other out and make a pretty solid title.

Totally! As much as I want Kamiya in on it, maybe he can do that Captain Falcon brawler in the meantime.

Also, anyone else thinking this might not be the stage itself? I mean, a Great Fox stage is a series staple, but with Classic Stages being a thing and Melee levels that were in Brawl coming back for a third round, too (Jungle Japes), what if this is just a new Star Fox level? Surprised it doesn't look like Star Fox U, though...

I found it all very funny myself. Especially when
Falco and Fox quit defending planets and become racers in F-Zero
is the best one.

That said I didn't think the game was bad, I mean it wasn't certainly mind blowing but I enjoyed it quite a bit.

It's going to be really cool seeing the SF64 Arwings fly past the Assault Arwings when Falco and Fox enter.

Oh and since where on the topic, Star Fox 64 3D is easily the best Star Fox, but Assault is still a criminally underrated game. The on-foot missions might have been terrible, but the music, story, dialogue, and multiplayer were all fantastic. The Arwing missions were also great, but they can't hold a candle to 64 though
