PSN Sale Thread - 7/22 to 7/29: Superhero Madness

damn this sale. already spent $30 for New N Tasty this morning on a whim. now I'm looking at Injustice, Black Gate and Lego:MSH for PS4. digital but what the hell?

Don't own it (but will latter today :D) but from what I saw online and the reviews I watched, it is a solid 2.5D action game that follows the Metroidvanna formula well. There is a lot of backtracking and the combat looks slower then in the console games but for a brand-new game developed by former Retro Studios guys (specifically the Metroid Prime series), it is a solid first game from them :).

Here is a video of the vita version in action for a better idea of the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWoLV-cOWyU

He asked about Batman Arkham Origins and not Batman Blackgates.

arkham origins PS3 definitely has issues (performance, combat changes, too similar to city, etc), but it's more than worth it at that price

Ops :(. Well, regarding Origins, the game more-or-less a sequel to Arkham City; same world to explore (but with some new locations to visit), better visuals, more combat options to play with, a much more in-depth Detective Mode, and the new voice actors for Batman and Joker are very solid :D.

It is a good game from what I saw....but only if you don't mind essentially replaying Arkham City again :(. The core issue with Origins is that it plays WAY to similar to Arkham City, so it's gameplay/levels will be very fimilar to those who played City before.

Other then that though, it is a good game :).

I sort of need help deciding a few things:

Lego Marvel: Vita or PS3? I've never played a Lego game.

Batman Origins PS3: Is it worth buying if I already have the physical? I may trade my disc if it's worth it.

Injustice: How is the learning curve for this game? When it comes to fighters, I'd like to play well (like UMvC3 and Tekken - well) but if it requires the same amount of time to learn, I may pass because I'm just bad at any fighters.

Persona 2: no help here. I'm definitely buying this one.

Is the Atlus one really a sale? I mean, I don't see a discount % or some text saying for how long those prices will stay. If it's not a sale but a permanent price drop, I'll wait another time to grab Gungnir and Growlanser

Guess I'm in on Injustice ps4. Now I have to decide if Arkham Asylum is worth it; played and beat it back in 2009 but wondering if I should get it just to have the entire series.

Festival of Blood and black gate are the most interesting things to me.
Though I don't know if I should pull the plug. Already have SS so can't see myself really going back to Infamous 2. Then Blackgate has already hit 5 on steam so it's bound to hit that price again at some point.

Hmmmmmm.

Tempted to get Injustice PS4 even though I have it on Wii U. Is the Ultimate edition really that Ultimate?

Also curious about Lego Marvel on Vita...isn't it a totally different game than the console/pc versions? I love the PC version which I got for a whopping $5 on some Amazon digital sale a while back.

Damnit, I just spent money buying the PS3 Raidou games, if I thought that there would be a PSP/PS Vita sale I would've waited, since I play my Vita more than my PS3 actually.

Hmm at $8 I'm considering Injustice. I'm not a huge fighting game fan, and I thought MK9 was alright, but not too great. Is Injustice better?

Never really got into MK9, but Injustice is similar in terms of mechanics. It's a good fighter, great if you're a DC fan at all.

Are these deals live yet on the console stores? Definitely getting Injustice PS4.

Damn, why is the US getting all the good sales. Would pick up a lot of these games at these prices if they were like this on the EU store. Not being able to play those awesome RPGs on my European Vita is such an eyesore.
