PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Not that bad, really. There is all sorts of performance issues on the PS3 version as well. Piece of advice, the physical version have way less stuttering than the digital version.

Really? How does that occur?

I thought physical vs. digital on Vita didn't matter in that regard.

Akiba's Trip for ps4 will be localized too (coming this holiday season).
Still getting the Vita version, I think.

Edit: and crap, I was expecting the vita version to come out on 08/05! Not cool.

I don't know how, but it's true. I have the S1E1 digital, and was pretty bad. Since then I bought the S1 Complete physical, and it was better. I actually compared the first five minutes and the cart advantage was clear.

When in doubt, I always go for the Vita version. It's been working out well so far.

$40 vs $60, nuff said. .

Finally got back into Ys: MoC, and it's surprising how much the frame rate drops considering how the game looks. At least the gameplay and music are top notch

Wait, really?

Hmm I might keep an eye out for S2 on cart then.

Haven't decided whether I'm going Vita or PS4 for it yet.

It is not the only game that this happens. SF x TK digital have a weird stuttering that happens very often. On the cart, this still happens, but way less. I think that is related to the loading times/cache.

Out of curiosity (and a theory I have), do you have a grip that plugs into the Vita's charging port, or were you/do you play with the charger plugged in?

Season 2 plays better than Season 1 did, though it has a few graphical issues here and there that aren't slowdown/frame rate related.

I played the trial of S2E1, and it still had that annoying 'pause'/load after every choice thing.

Looked visually better than S1 though.

There's a pause after the choices, but it's miniscule in comparison to the first season and is likely a product of loading the scene and not frame dropping as there's nothing there to play until you make a choice and it loads it.

That's how games with choices generally go down, even on PC.

I agree with this. I played season 1 on Xbox 360 and Vita and the stuttering/slowdown around making choices is just how the game is across both of those platforms. There are a few scenes on Vita in which I had trouble registering my touch commands due to additional slowdown, but it was pretty minor in comparison to my console experience.

Are anyone else's downloads going totally fucking slow tonight? Downloading the Destiny update and new Now TV app at 60kb/s at the moment. Speed test on PS4 and otherwise are absolutely normal.

I'm getting ~2.5 megabytes (not bits) per second download via PS3 right now (over wifi).

Siliconera confirmed PB Battlegrounds will cost $11.99, and Kurisu DLC is $5.99. Isn't that cheaper on live? The vita tax rises again.

Guys, is there any Diablo / Torchlight clone on the Vita/PSP? I mean a loot based ARPG. I'm wanting one for quite a while, and even though about buying Borderlands 2, but I'm still on the fence on that because of the performance issues.

dungeon hunter alliance and silent hill: book of memories are the closest you're going to get

speaking of borderlands 2 - anyone want to play with me on ps3? i'm level 12 gunzerker. have never played MP, been solo so far. but everyone says this game is much better co-op

Thanks, just saw the reviews for both of them and...sigh, I guess I'll pass on that. So many indie games and not a single ARPG, c'mon indies!

So around $15 in Aus. That's about what I expected so I don't mind much, though being higher than the original price sucks.

Anyone else notice the Gaming on the Go "thing" under Deals & Offers on the EU PSN? "Thing" because I have no idea what it is, since there's no discounts on it so far:
https://store.sonyentertainmentnetw...-on-the-go/cid=STORE-MSF75508-SUM_FES_VITA_CH

At first I thought SCEE may have stupidly leaked their first week of the Summer Sale but then I realised that it's almost all Vita games (with one PS3 game, GoW Ascension), so I guess it's just a pointless list of games that are neither deals nor offers?

Got to love how Jawad blatantly said that the Summer Sale wouldn't see prices as good as the US PSNs Superhero Sale though:
There’ll be a ton of stuff on sale from next week so check back then (not a Super Hero Sale) including a couple of those titles, but the Plus discounts will not match the US levels.

Oh, wow. I forgot about that sale. I remember now. There were a few things that weren't that bad.

Damnit, I regret not buying Deception IV from that....

Ok Vitacats, want some advice on what to buy from the sale - I have 11 bucks to spend, am thinking either

1. Persona + P2:IS
2. Growlanser + Crimson gem saga
3. Hohokum (probably not, there will probably be sales down the road and I can wait)

or are any of the other atlus rpgs good?

Yesterday i bought:
-Trump's Journey: i really like it, it heavily feels like a modern and more refined Blues Brothers game that i loved on the Amiga.

-Console Saga(PSM): It's really good, it has even a random level generator(without checkpoints though :\ ) but man it's HARD, or maybe it's just me that i was never good with grappling hooks...

A PSM farm themed clone of Bomberman(i don't remember the name sorry): i have played only 3 levels and apparently the aim of each level is to find that whateveritisthatwhitething, i didn't see bonus or bomb upgrades, the character can place 2 bombs at time, that's all, at least for the moment :\

Some of the first Binding of Issac: Rebirth footage in this video along with 5 other upcoming vita games!!!!!!!!!!!! http://youtu.be/8wiG-iQMW_U

Am i the only one to think that IGN made this video(and others each month in the future) because the 150 upcoming Vita games thread gave them the material? :\

Have you checked Dragons Crown? Its 2D but loot based ARPG, very good game.

Yes, because at the start of the video Colin says that Sony came to IGN with a Vita devkit with those 6 games.

Despite watching Vita announcements like a hawk, CounterSpy had totally passed me by - checked out a few videos last night, and now it's on my Must Buy list. It looks great, and I'm itching to get stuck into another Metroid-like game after finishing Guacamelee.

Good to see some new Binding of Isaac footage - that must mean it's coming soon, right? RIGHT??!?!?!?

Vita related, slowly working my way through Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate at the moment. Fantastic game, hungry suit aside. Defeated the level 5 boss (King Terrapin) on the train into work this morning. Great boss fight, and very satisfying. Felt like high fiveing the little old woman sat next to me when it was done. I didn't though. That would have been weird.

Fake edit: I wish we were allowed a dedicated Vita thread.
