I'd like to see THIS as a stage with Bowser Land in the background:
Would be colorful and cool, especially with Hisstocrat in the background and his minions altering the stage.
Oooh, that's a great idea! He shows up enough that people would be able to recognize it too. That might be a good pick for the next game? It might be a little too recent.
My next choice would be Phaaze or Phazon Mines because it would look super cool and would be Prime based, but I'm not that optimistic. Something like Dark Aether or Phendrana would look cool like I said, but those areas don't do a good job of representing even their original games, let alone the Metroid series as a whole.
You have ancient ruins, Ridley and Chozo statues on a desolate alien world. It's certainly more representative of the series as a whole than Orpheon or the generic Brawl Norfair, and the ice theme also helps to differentiate it from previous Metroid stages, as well as representing an aspect of the series' environments that tends to be equally prominent as volcanic areas.
I love the idea of a Chozodia stage, but how does Phendrana not represent the Metroid series?

That would be such a damn good stage. I don't like the previous Metroid stages in Smash, honestly, with the exception of Brinstar Depths, so I'd love for it to finally have one I like.

While it would by no means be a bad pick, I just don't really remember it being that important. Like I would love to see it, but it really wasn't even all that important in Prime, and we never saw it again, you know? It's sort of hard to explain, I just can't see Sakurai picking it for some reason. Something with Phazon has the edge over it in my mind because of Phazon's significance to the Prime series, and something like Chozodia has an edge over it because its so important to Samus's past. It doesn't help that Prime came out more than ten years ago now.
But then again, they did pick Opheon... so who knows! And now we're getting Pyrosphere, which if it wasn't picked for a Ridley boss fight, must have just been picked because it was the place with lava. Brawl really should have had Phendrana over Opheon, that would have made a nice pair of stages.
I think you're joking, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was something Sakurai considers. Maybe fire stages are Metroid's "thing"? Maybe that's why there's no Bowser's Castle lol.
Bring back all of the HW1 characters, add more costumes and moves, add online co-op and versus, add the ability to switch characters on the battlefield and to swap in characters mid-combo, add the ability to issue orders to AI allies, and of course increase the variety of enemies, bosses, subweapons, etc.
You can tell my leak is totally legit because it confirms some super cool surprises but also features a couple of disappointments. 100 percent confirmed because it's balanced.

Considering that they revealed all playable characters prior to the game's release, I wonder if Sakurai is planning on doing the same thing for Smash 4/5.
Probably because it comes earlier in the game, and because one's in Metroid Prime. I doubt many people can forget Chozodia after getting that far in Zero Mission. That whole section is the closest the games have ever come to giving Samus some real backstory, which is kinda cool.
I know people always suggest stuff for Metroid like Phendrana Drifts, but I don't think that's a really good representation for the franchise, as cool as it would be. When I think of Metroid, the first areas I think of are space station environments and lava environments.
Why would Phendrana Drifts not be a good representation of the franchise? It's hardly the only snowy area in Metroid, and we've gotten our fill of lava for the past three Smashes. If anything, the best way to represent Metroid is to show the diversity of its worlds, because they are very diverse and that diversity has not been shown in the Smash Bros series.

I've been saying this for months now. They did with Mario Kart 8 too, and Sakurai said there isn't many trailers left. I think people are gonna be shocked on what little is left.

Can someone help me get my info on the 3DS friend code sheet? When I click on the link in the OP I can't quote the post to see the link to add my stuff.

Obviously not real, but damn if I wouldn't be 100% happy with every single thing mentioned there. I guess I don't really care for Ghirahim as a newcomer, but whatever, I'd take him along with everything else in that fake leak.
Really hope this thread gets back on track after the horrible last few pages.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Like I'm one of those people who would take any of the Prime games over even Super Metroid any day of the week... but we already have one Metroid stage that's not on Zebes, I don't think we'll get a game completely without them.

I'm thinking they'll do this with newcomers, but unless there's a massive Smash Direct soon I don't think they'll reveal all the veterans. And if they do... why isn't Game and Watch on the website yet?
Also, speaking of stages, when was the last time we saw this one? Pikmin doesn't get enough love.
What everyone has to remember about Hyrule Warrios is that each different weapon type is basically a different character. They could have taken the Fire Rod and Ball & Chain off of Link and given them to two other characters instead and it really wouldn't have changed anything from a gameplay stand point just a presentation one. With all those different play styles for each character the number of unique move sets is really going to be 30+ which is plenty for the first installment of a cross over musou game.
Really the only disappointing thing is that
the rest of the original characters aren't playable like Cia and Valva

We've had three games in a row with Zebes stages. For God's sake, give Zebes a rest. The majority of the Metroid games don't take place on Zebes, why do we have to have a Zebes stage?
Agree, I honestly expect all the newcomers to be revealed before launch, with the remaining newcomers probably being Shulk and a RH character. The only thing we may not get 100% confirmed before launch are all the veterans, even then I can still see them being announced/revealed but still have to unlock them ala Mario Kart 8
Exactly. 2 and 3 have been done multiple times in Smash (functionally, there isn't much different between acid and lava; compare Brinstar and Norfair,) and 1 has kind of been done with Frigate Orpheon, though I wouldn't complain if GFS Valhalla is a stage. But Phendrana Drifts gives you 4 and 5 together, and it's totally different from any Metroid stage that's been in thus far. Plus, you get that awesome music.
