MGSV for PC officially confirmed

When they said that it was revealed using typical MGS humour, I was expecting a fully modeled Gabe to be in the hostage room.

Despite not being into the Metal Gear franchise for a long time, I'm happy to get in on Ground Zero. Story isn't a key attraction for me, as I just don't enjoy Kojima's style anymore, but the game sounds genuinely fun and should be the bite-sized MGS I need. Remastered PC ports for the previous titles would be great as well; I just wish Konami would let Hudson live.

This is great news, I'll consider buying it. Only thing that might hold me back is that the last MGS game I played through was the first one on Playstation (and MGR recently though that doesn't count). So I'm not exactly caught up on the story which might leave me confused with MGSV I guess?

You will be confused. You'll only really need to play MGS3 and Peace Walker to get up to speed. You will however be missing a lot of little fanservice bits.

If you have a PS3, it's all here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CTKHXFO/?tag=neogaf0e-20

You could always play the PS2 games via emulator as well.

Once again the myriad of post claiming it would never happen are proved wrong yet again. Thoroughly expected and still happy to jump in. Will happily grab the whole collection whenever they get round to bringing it to PC

Fox Engine is supposed to scale. It should run but not look as good. i mean, they made a port of GZ for the 360/PS3 which is probably worst than your PC.

I'll pray to that. My poor HD7750 is already struggling. Might be able to run it in Sub-1080p with a decent frame rate.

I don't think this will actually happen. And it would be a miracle if we ever see MGS4 on anything other than PS3 with all the weird shit that went on with it's engine.

We had some users on this forum that were very certain indeed that MGSV wasn't going to be released on PC. What can we learn from this? Well maybe that there's no way for you to know what other people do with their property.

This is enormous for me. I've never been into paying to play games online, and I have been planning to build a new PC. With neither of the new consoles beside the Wii U offering free network play and the inability to upgrade console hardware, I'm 100% in on this. Massive news.

Disappointed it's going to be Steamworks.

Not me. I'm at the point where I'll pay slightly more to have a game on Steam than to buy it from one of the *many* other online shops (and then having to try and remember which place I got it from!). In practice, the price is almost always lowest for the Steam version anyway, so I get to have my cake and eat it too.

(Hopefully these versions will be better than the port of MGS2: Substance that the PC got way back in the day. I don't recall that version being all that good...)

You're right. You can emulate MGS1-3 perfectly on PC anyway now, and MGS4 is never coming to PC, but a PS3 emulator is in the works and will likely be able to play proper titles in the next 3 years of development.

Depending on the requirements I might get it for PC. My current rig is getting a little long in the tooth though so I won't hold out hope.

Welp, like Rising, PC it is. Originally I was gonna go PS4, but nah.

Does Ground Zeroes have a 2014 release on PC?
