DS4 thumb sticks might have a problem?

Probably just paranoid but I was chatting with cs, during the chat she gave me my service # and the address I need to ship the controller to, which was "Service Center" address Bldg. B Suite #9. After the chat I immediately made a shipping label online, the label automatically switched Bldg. B Suite #9 to Ste 9 Bldg B(I think it should be fine). I taped my service # to the controller (not instructed to do it) packaged and took the controller to my post office. Afterwards I received an email from CS (35min after chat) with instructions to ship my controller. In the instructions it says to ship it to "PEC" and the service # is different than the one I initially received and taped to the controller. Do you guys think this will be problem?
Also, If you guys want to save money shipping you could use Paypal Ship Now https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now. Ship using First Class parcel which from my experience from selling items on ebay it's about as fast as Priority Mail. I shipped the controller for just under $3, you just have to make sure it weights under 12oz.

Well it's done!
Xbox one sticks safe at home in my DS4.
Quick review:
The rubber on the DS4 sticks was my biggest complaint. My thumbs constantly slipped off during the Destiny Beta. The Xbox sticks are like glue and being concave helps a lot.
The only little nit picky thing is the taller sticks do decrease some of the tension on the sticks. However you gain a little more range of motion.
In the end I would recommend the swap to anyone. It's not like you can't toss your old ones back on.

My grips were starting to smooth out to the point even a little moisture caused my thumb to slide off, so I bought these:
Great decision on my part. The tabs were easy to put on and don't slip off. They raise the middle of the joystick up a tiny bit, but gives good leverage in return. Also the gel grips are much more moisture resistant than the stock grip. At $8, its way cheaper and less time consuming than trying to get a replacement. I use them on both my controllers.

Here is a picture just because.
around my 20th hour of playing the destiny beta, I noticed a slight peal on my thumb pad, I immediately went down the block to game stop and bought those gel tabs, placed those things on.......granted it makes clicking in the left thumb stick a little more difficult to initiate a sprint, but whatever, its saving my pads

God that looks so much better. The current rubber sticks adds to the very tacky look of the DS4 in general, but those sticks make it look a lot nicer.

Good. I didnt like the other one. Still bummed about no red. It doesnt make sense. How long after ps3 launch did it take to come out with all the colors of the DS3?
Probably a longer time than this. (foot jammed in mouth)
It is mate. I have done the same thing, and it is quite easy if you don't let the R2/L2 buttons come off .

Can you post a pic of how they look on a controller please? I saw those grips at GS yesterday while trading my ps3 version of the last of us for a remaster. Thank you.
I also bought x1 sticks but not sure if I want to install them, they kinda look cheap and plasticky to me.

Welp, I ordered those custom light bar decals and it sounds like I'll be ordering yet another DS4 mod once I get the white PS4.

I got those a while back and the main problem I have with Gel Tabz is that pushing in the sticks when they are at an angle is a pain in the ass. Sprinting in games like Destiny and Battlefield 4 is a real hassle with those things. I ended up taking the Gel Tabs off.

Yes its really easy. The only problem I had was my R2 came off and I had to get the spring back on and re-attatch it.
if you are careful and you follow a how to anyone can do it.

August 19th is the big day, folks. That's when the new blue DS4 comes out.

It has been for most. They are SO much better!
I much prefer the DS4 sticks tbh. I did a fairly comprehensive comparison of both here.

I go back and forth on it.
I prefer the tension and height on the DS4 sticks but the rubber is so bad that my fingers slip all over.
while playing Destiny I was having to adjust my thumb because it was slipping off the top.
I haven't had that problem with the Xbox sticks.

Between Launch and April this year, I rotated between the two black controllers on the PS4 and probably put in about 40 hours of use per controller. The sticks on these are both worn smooth and seem quite fragile, like they could tear after a few more hours use.
While I was over in Japan in April I bought the Red and Blue DS4's. Since then I have probably put in about 70+ hours on each (Red for PC games like Dark Souls 2 and Shovel Knight. Blue for PS4 games like Watch Dogs, Wolfenstein, Infamous and Destiny). These controllers have seen far more action than the Black controllers, yet they still look brand new by comparison.
So in my case, I can only assume that they have fixed the problem. I will be getting a White DS4 when Destiny comes out because I want to see how it holds up against the others, and also it's beautiful.
As a side note, I think that the DS4 is the most comfortable controller I have ever used and have had no problems with it other than the type of rubber they had in their initial batch of controllers. The 'new' rubber feels great, zero complaints. I will try take some photos tomorrow.

Does the new shipment of Red/Blue DS4 for the EU have the new textured sticks?
Because I couldn't see those DS4 since the launch... and 2 weeks ago started to return to the stores.
I want a new DS4, but I don't know how to do: to buy a new red one or to wait untill the white DS4 will be released, because I suppose that will have the new sticks for sure...

This exact issue happened to me. It was more noticeable playing FPS games and seemed to happen more when playing online. I sent the control pad off to Sony and received a replacement around 2 weeks later (a brand new pad) The new control pad had a matte finish to the touchpad as opposed to the shiny finish on the launch ones. It also has a letter in the middle of the serial number. Again as opposed to the 'all numbers' variant of the original pads.
I can post screenshots of the two pads side by side, but i'm currently at work. The sticks are definitely different, but not too dissimilar to me whereby all problems should now theoretically be alleviated.

A few days ago I noticed the R2 trigger sort of drooping down and when pushed becoming stuck. It didn't have the same precision or sharp trigger input as the L2 trigger. I've watched a few Youtube videos and it seems to be a common problem. Most suggest to take it apart and remove the spring the holds the trigger in place. They say it functions good as new although feels slightly looser.
Anyone here experience this themselves? What would be the best course of action?

Thankfully, I haven't experienced that problem, but my triggers have started to squeak when pressed. Most of the time this isn't an issue as I have my surround system or my headphones on loud enough to drown it out, but it is annoying and not really what I'd expect from a controller that costs so much.

Before I had a light scratch, for months, then my brother played the other day and the stick rubber is practically falling apart.

I've ordered a pack of 10 Xbone sticks to fix this issue. Figured I'd get enough for when the issue happens to the additional controllers I grab down the I can replace them then.

How are the Futbol Freeks holding up? I just noticed that they now have versions of the FPS Freek CQC (not the CQC signature) available for PS4 now. These look like they most closely resemble the 360 sticks in their product line. Seem like these might be better grip wise than the Futbol ones?

well I ended up putting my original DS4 sticks back on after modding my controller with Xbox one sticks. The taller sticks never felt exactly right to me.
Guess I will pray they don't come apart and just deal with the slip.

Just finished adding Xbox One thumbsticks to my controller. Man what a HUGE difference. I feel like I have way more control without my fingers slipping off the edges of the controller. It's like the perfect fix for this problem.
Got mines installed today as well. Since I have 4 DS4, I figured why not.
I think I prefer the grip better for the original sticks but I'm liking the added height with the X1 sticks.
I picked up a pair of Grip-iT Analog Stick Covers just to stop any possible issues with my ds4.
I am pretty impressed with them, not as much slipage on the stick and since they are pretty thin I dont notice any real difficulty in reaching/pressing down on the stick.
Overall so far easily worth the 4.22 with free prime shipping.

I'm buying the white controller next month in the hopes that it's sticks are perfect and won't degrade over time. My two current black controllers don't have any rubber falling off yet, but the surfaces feel uneven and they have like a cut on the left portion. It's hard to describe. Still fine to play with, but it bothers me.
