Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

I'm starting to get nervous that none of the franchises we've seen get past stages so far have any original stages on the same version where they have a past stage. Like I really hope that jungle japes isn't the only DK 3ds stage and so on.

didnt they show off that one stage from returns 3d with the circular platform thing a while back?

For what it's worth, I much prefer the alternate costumes because they look way more comfortable than the Zero Suit.

These alts only make her freakish contortions even more apparent. Orange ZSS appears to have no less than 3 dislocated joints, and is missing a few ribs.
Yeah, the animation on Zero Suit Samus is... Odd. I think the changes from Brawl threw some things out of place.

"Days left for development?"

In the days of post-release updates and fixes, that phrase seems scary and archaic.
I still reckon we're going to see a lot of content that gets done in time for the Wii U version get patched back into the 3DS version.

Also really hope this means more veterans get alts. Dr. Mario from his male designer or DKJr. from his reptilian designer are a must.

What the FUDGE.

So we're going down this road, are we Sakurai? Alright, then we better see some skimpy ass costumes for Ike, Captain Falcon, Little Mac, Male Wii Fit Trainer and Snake. (If he's included.)

I don't have a problem with some cheesecake, but there better damn well be a huge slab of beefcake right alongside it.
Are there costumes like that in their games to pull from?

Pic of the day. Looking at the number of days we have left for development, it would be an impossible task to create this… That's what I told my staff. But thanks to the determination of her female designer, these Zero Suit outfits got completed in time. From the ending of Metroid: Zero Mission, here's Samus in shorts!

Here's a look at the 3DS version. You can use the same outfit variations in both the 3DS and Wii U versions.

Thank you female designer.

Nah, save that and Dreamland 64 for the Wii U version. They're too good of competitive stages to be only on the 3DS.

Melee stages on the Wii U wouldn't look right. Which is why i'm excited for 3DS on that part. The characters will be the right size for the stage, instead of being all huge.

Awesome! I'd prefer Justin Bailey (even though there was never really a shot of that), but this is a good runner up. Iconic in its own right, and with color variations to boot! ...her bendy torso still looks silly, though.

Also, Brinstar's return is much appreciated. Definitely my favorite Metroid stage so far.

Hate to break it to you but back when jungle japes was revealed someone did a comparison and the proportions are the same as in Brawl iirc

Yeah, it's super-transparent that Sakurai is trying to avoid sexism accusations. I mean, why mention the fact the designer is female unless you're trying to avoid this particular design choice looking like male fan service.

Something can be sexist, racist, homophobic transphobics, etc. even if it is produced by a member of the minority group. So its not like mentioning that should actually accomplish anything. To be honest, I feel you'd have to do a pretty good deal of stretching to call these alts sexist anyway.

What the FUDGE.

I think you can probably expect a Little Mac alt of this sort but I don't think Falcon has ever taken off his shirt and who knows what's going on with Snake now. These Zero Suit alts are references to canonical outfits not just excuses to show extra skin.

Why? Even in games that get DLC support, there has to be a cut-off date so you can, you know, actually product and ship the product that goes on store shelves.

Eh, I think they'll look just fine. Plus, 3DS version is getting both Brawl and Melee stages. I don't see why the Wii U version won't get both too.

They put practically the entire cast of Awakening in swimsuits. That's close enough to justify swimsuit alts for the FE reps. What's more, it would be perfect for gender balance. You'd alts for three women - ZSS, Lucina, and femRobin - and three men - Ike, Marth, and maleRobin.

This is all in the name of equality, of course. No ulterior motives here.

I don't blame him for clarifying, though, especially not after the Little Mac x Samus debacle from the former's reveal trailer.

What an update. That orange looks so good.

And does this count as a new stage being revealed? I need a second opinion for bet purposes. =3

I don't want to be a pony again D=

On the other hand though, I think I'd be willing to make a bet over Oric's favourite character poll!
Sounds good to me! What did you have in mind?
