PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

Surely tetris ultimate must be getting a release date soon! I wish games like this got allowed out in the summer, but no doubt it will come out the week in back at work! (Don't work school hols)

Huh...I got Bloody Roar 2 off my friend's US PSN account.
I should prob. buy it and Pocket Fighter already on my own account :P

I find really hypocritical that a person like Yoshida after deciding to kill Vita first shows on a tweet his Vita games saying that he's going play on a the plane and then saying that Vitabros are so hardcore that don't need anything because they are omniscient.

Honestly i would prefer him to stay completely silent or at least being sincere saying that he couldn't care less of Vita.

People are not not so stupid to believe to these pathetic attempts to avoid the inevitable hate he totally deserves.

I can't do anything else other than despising him.

Wow.

What is the PS+ discounted price for Hotline Miami? I bought it for $10 from my phone, but now that I'm home and on the console store I'm seeing that PS+ gets it for a discounted price.

EDIT: It's $8. Why doesn't the web store display and offer the discounted price?

The store is still updating

What the hell is The Last Tinker? I'm a sucker for 3D platformers but I don't wanna get burned.

A 3D platformer that's kinda like Jak & Daxter. You fight enemies, solve puzzles, and try to banish the Bleakness from Colortown. I thought it was fun but the frame rate dropped way too frequently.

Wow, Sony certainly seems to be giving The Last Tinker as little fanfare as possible. I still cannot find a price for the game, and it isn't listed anywhere in the coming soon area of the store. :(

I'm not sure Sony has anything to do with that game other than it being on their hardware.

What else can he say?

They're probably not going to bother pushing the platform any longer.

Clearly Kawano retired because he's a Vitabro and couldn't handle this. :(

Another gem from the SAO OT:

Someone please confirm that this line is still in the western version.

I don't think so (outside of ones that don't work normally on Vita like MotorStorm and Resistance Liberation) :l. The odd thing is that (I think? I know the Persona games work on Vita :D) these WORK on Vita, so it is strange them being pulled off the Vita PSN :(.

I doubt this is western version

From videos online, the English translation isn't perfect either :(, so I wouldn't be shocked if that still is the case in the NA version :l.

I just find it odd too; Bamco did a solid job (I think? Don't own this yet) with the Vita One Piece game, as that game had proper English translation despite being voice in JP. With this tough, they more or less threw together a slap-dash translation just to get the game out here rather then putting a lot of time/effort to get things properly translated.

I mean, it can't be that bad, right? When watching the show last night on Netflix, the sub-tittles were spot on and let me understand the characters perfectly despite the language barrier. I guess they didn't have the funds to get that done right (or, just felt like the Vita wasn't worth the extra work; the thing sadly sells like crap in NA X(), so I suppose that is why the just took the Asian version, add some fixes here and there and called it a day.

Granted, it IS nice the game even came here at all and I'm just glad I got the chance to watch the show thanks to this game's word of mouth (I mean, if you guy's didn't talk about this, I would have never watched the show and really enjoy it's first half :D).

They took the asian version, pressed CTRL+F, looked for penetration context or anything close to it and reworded it.

Did One Piece have an Asian version before the english that had an Engrish translation? If not then that's why.

That hardcore gamer review... Oof.
I'm gonna pass on this. I had no idea it was that kind of game.
Was expecting it to be something like dot hack I guess given the premise. Admittedly I've never watched the anime.

SAO is Vita exclusive and it appears they didn't actually pay someone to localize the script. One Piece: Unlimited World Red is also on PS3, 3DS and Wii U. There's plenty of platforms to spread the costs of a proper localization.

That is no excuse not to have your game properly translated, if it takes an extra month or two, so be it. The quality matters to some people.

But what if the only choices are a bad translation or no release? Many companies would just choose not to release at all rather than spend the extra month or two and the money required for a better translation. And while I wish the translation was better, I would rather play this way than not at all. Same thing with Phantasy Star Online 2. Give me the shitty asian translation, I'd rather have that then nothing!

Just devils advocate, not happy about the translation decision.

It has an interesting parallel with Demon's Souls, since many people played the Chinese or Asian version which had complete English VA and text. Despite not knowing if it was ever coming to the West the translation was very well done. PERFECT? No.

With this, it seems like laziness and the want to have this drop before fall caused a rush job. Yes this game clearly has VOLUMES of text but...it truly comes off as being sloppy.

PS2 smoothing and upscaler options on PS3. What do you guys use? Or does it depend on the game? I'm gonna start SMT Nocturne.

Wait so some PSP games got removed from the Vita store? Really..?

The best part is that SCEA isn't doing this at the request of the publishers. They're seemingly removing stuff unintentionally as they're not alerting the publishers either.
