Takada is one of my favorite composers but man the example list of games he worked on depresses me. This is the guy who did Killer 7 and both No More Heroes soundtracks. You know the good Suda 51 games before he went pedestrian. Dude also had multiple tracks in Brawl and Kid Icarus Uprising.
Other personal highlights include:
Ace from Xenoblade
Kumi Tanioka from the Crystal Chronicles Series
Yoko Shimomura from Kingdom Hearts
Ryo Nagamatsu has done a bunch of great work with Nintendo Land along with Mario and Zelda
Mahito Yokota from Mario too
I wonder if these are all the composers? Seems quite a bit less than Brawl. Maybe more will be added for Wii U.

Yep, I'm completely at ease now. The soundtrack is one of the most important parts of any game for me, but this is like 1000% more true with Smash... and I am SO HYPED now that I know it's getting the similar star treatment and amazing musician lineup that Brawl's did.
And yeah, you know she will.
She also had a hand in Xenoblade Chronicles' music, so...if so I predict many many hours in my copy
...not that I already wasn't going to log thousands of hours in Smash anyway

Oh yeah...I can't be bummed because of all the goodness we're getting, but I really hope he's involved with the Wii U one.
That's what I'm afraid of, Brawl theme was cool at first but it was waaay overused in the final game.

My only concern is that since the Music section only has three samples to begin with, we'll now have some PotDs devoted entirely to introducing single new music samples... and with only 15 left until release, there's not exactly much time. But hey, MUSIC. I'm fucking stoked.

Yeah Dr Mario theme is generally considered one of Hip Tanaka's best.
He did a cool Squeak Squad arrangement in Brawl.

Still a bit disappointed in the update, the music was obviously going to be good and have variety so I'm not really that interested in hearing it pre-release other than what we've already heard in trailers, there was enough music in the smash bros. direct that I wouldn't have cared if it was never mentioned in a potd.

Which known composers so far also did Brawl? I know Yoko Shimamura, Michiro Naruke and Motoi Sakuraba were in Brawl.

Heath, don't worry, it's just :50 sec clips of certain songs in the game. Nothing worth noting about in my opinion.
