To be honest when I saw proposed ideas for Duck Hunt Dog's moveset he was always working with ducks. It's kind of obvious.
Can't believe that if the leak is real, they kept the three most interesting characters to me for last to reveal (Shulk, Bowser Jr. and Duck Hunt).
I'm really starting to hope it's true.
All of his posts were jokes, though (he literally announced he was "breaking character" for one post this morning.) The problem was, people took him seriously and believed his plainly absurd claims. I thought he was a lot of fun.
I don't know, to me there's not a whole lot funny about stuff like the Ice Climbers thing. Like, yeah, it turns out you were lying...hilarious. I know this all about a video game and not that serious, but wouldn't it have bothered you if someone led you to believe Paper Mario was playable, and then pull the rug from under your feet all for a laugh? This just my opinion, of course, I haven't been around here long enough to have a full opinion on the guy.
I like Dark Pit - but I like clones in general - and I don't think he's a symptom of over-representation for Kid Icarus. 2.5 characters isn't some huge travesty. The obscene number of Smash Run enemies is a bigger deal, but I can forgive that - they must be REALLY easy to port over from Uprising. The fact it has so many new ITEMS, though? That's a bit much for my tastes.
Duck Hunt is a random choice but a big deal in America for obvious reasons and not out of character when you consider the Ice Climbers. And ROB in particular - he didn't show up at all, anywhere, in Melee, had a wink-and-a-nod in a few games, and was playable in Mario Kart DS. I don't think that Duck Hunt is too far behind him as far as obscurity goes.
Hatsune Miku, for me, is an interesting choice, because she's in a super grey area. She originated in software... does that count as a game? She's a "computer entertainment" character with a strong video game presence, and is stupid popular in Japan (hell, most of the world at this point). I'd be in favor of her just because it would piss so many people off.
I have no opinion on Dark Pit. It would be kind of cool to see Duck Hunt Dog playable and what kind of moves Sakurai give it.
And yes, this thread would burn down in a fireball of bans the moment Miku is ever announced with what people will say.
My opinion has changed of you, I never thought you had put thousands of hours into brawl and that you had liked the game, guess you wasent 100% serious with your previous posts about brawl in the past that made me think you was singleminded when it came the series.
Abe from Oddworld would've gotten in, too, with the King of All Cosmos considered for DLC down the road, if Sony Santa Monica hadn't killed DLC for the game... There were only 2 sets of DLC, and they wanted to promote Warhawk/the Vita, so Emmett Graves & Kat from Gravity Rush got the first 2 spots locked. I guarantee you that, had this gone on, we would've seen even more 3rd Parties... Maybe even including Crash.
So, anyway... Did you guys really talk about what your ideal Smash families were last night? Honestly, I'm grateful all EmCee did was lock the thread... But music's a great update, and I see the 3DS having Gear Getaway & Kongo Jungle as DK songs as a knock against the leak, so I got my wish there, even if it's more like a rock was thrown at it than a true deconfirm. Plus, I was wondering how Smash Run music was going to work!

I expect Dark Pit to be a part of another character's trailer like Lucina. Unless he was intended to be revealed in Palutena's and they changed their minds.

Yeah, it was pretty crazy. I attributed to the madness, but I tried to get things back on track with Smash talk toward the end of it. Unfortunately, there was no stopping the train. EmCee made the right call.

Ordinarily, yes, I'd be annoyed (though since that's something so trivial, I hope I'd be able to laugh at myself for getting suckered,) but if it was afoni who told me Paper Mario was playable, I wouldn't have believed him from the beginning. As a known joke poster, I think he's a special case. And I understand that those who didn't realize he posted "in character" might have been thrown for a loop by the ICs thing, but really, it was a pretty ridiculous claim on the face of it, and no one was fooled for long.
I don't know, I just think it's fine for a community like this to have one dedicated joke poster. Every court needs a jester.

I feel like he won't be in any characters trailer. He was already in Palutena's trailer. I feel he will just be confirmed a newcomer/clone down the road like any returning character. Having him in two trailers seems kinda strange when they could show off other characters instead.

Bear in mind, if the DLC rumor from the same source is also true, the final CSS wouldn't have any black. It would be filled completely with icons. And the icons could be rearranged, as well. It'd look rather nice at that point.

I dunno, for jokes like that, just put a "/s" mark or something, especially with all this leak business. I guess we can just agree to disagree and, again, I don't hate the guy or anything. I just find that type of action annoying.

Haha, yeah, it got pretty silly. I kept interjecting some Smash questions and people would answer them, but we'd immediately go back to "AaAAaaaH where is it!!!?!" I'm just as guilty as everyone else, though.

I never said I thought the rumor was fake, between the version of this rumor on Smash Boards a few weeks ago and now these images I'm afraid it may very well be real and it bothers me because the Dog is truly the first time I've ever felt a character does NOT belong in Smash Bros. It's not about if he'd be a fun character to play or not he simply does not deserve to be in Smash Bros and I'm afraid he will be.
