Hey, look at that. I've been watching for 5 hours and 42 minutes, and the Steelers are about to make their first pick.

And they aren't even one of the teams that traded away their first pick.

Fuck you San Fran, you started the day off with horrible pace.

Phew. They picked him up.

Now, all they have to do is NOT FUCKING MISUSE HIM AND IGNORE THE FACT THAT HE'S ON THE FIELD.

Man I can't believe the Lions' receiver corps now. It's a good thing that Minnesota bolstered their secondary to combat Roy Williams, Mike Williams, Charles Rogers, Az-Zahir Hakim, and Tai Streets. And then they also have Kevin Jones. :lol :lol :lol

What a fuckin' offense, Jesus.

Yeah but you need a good QB to hit those WR.

if rodgers is as big of a 49ers fan as he said in interviews, then today is the worst day of his life.

i would probably kill myself if i were a college player drafted by the packers

If Favre retires in the next 2 years or so actually Rodgers has alot to look forward to: Javon Walker, Donald Driver, Robert Ferguson, Bubba Franks, and Ahman Green. GB has had stout O-lines forever as well, by the time he come around they should have that thing rebuilt.

Not bad guys to have around you when you've got a huge chip on your shoulder :D

stupid question but

if you're running a 3-4 where one of your DEs is 300lbs and one of your LBs is a DE, are you not in fact running a 4-3?

damn Chargers...

I love reading the responses in this thread after a player gets selected! :lol Has any GM kept their fans happy with their 1st round pick today? :lol

While many Bucs fans wanted M. Williams (myself included), not many will tell you that "they aren't happy" with Cadillac - as long as we didn't pick a QB, I think we're pretty satisfied.

Shit, I'm actually....liking...the Browns....draft.

That was tough to admit. I think I need to go take a shower though.

edit: :lol :lol

Jaws predictably proclaiming TO the best receiver ever and the "prototype NFL receiver" and Hoge predictably knocking him on his ass and saying that anybody who didn't expect this is an idiot.

"eat shit, guys, cause I got drafted"

I'm to the point where I don't care where he gets drafted, but that man gets a huge respect nod from me no matter where he goes. Also figure that he'll be better than the burger in the long-term.

Getting closer to the Vikings pick. Come on Mike Nugent!

I have a friend who always uses the Zips whenever we decide to play with smaller school. I'm partial to the Richmond Spiders though.

And people just forget that we nabbed Kevin Johnson a couple of days ago. No one in the NFL will be able to combat our offense.

Great job by Detroit. Man we are gonna have a great year this year. :D

Yeah, except for that whole Joey Harrington thing and the fact that your defense is still absolutely shitty.

And Mike Williams is overrated.

Too bad Great defense crushes great offense. The Bears are amassing a great defense and I have no doubt will squash that puny Lions offense!

Joey will not do bad this year. I can guarantee that with that recieving core. Plus we have a ground threat as well with Kevin Jones.

They had good receivers last year and still didn't have anybody with 60 catches. A bad quarterback very much can hold a team down, regardless of how good their receivers may be(And one receiver who has played six total games in two years plus a rookie who hasn't played football period in 20 months doesn't really guarantee success).

Not really. We had Charles Rogers out last year. And our recieving core had more dropped passes then anyone in the NFL. Of course Roy Williamswas solid but even he was injured a lot of last year.

Seriously Joey Harrington is not bad. He just happened to have a group of recievers who had the most dropped passes in the NFL. He has steadily improved in all three of his NFL seasons. Not with Mike Williams, Roy Williams, Charles Rogers and Kevin Johnson he is set to explode.

And lets not forget Kevin Jones in the backfield.

Shut up KIPER! I hate you!

FUCK BEANS!

edit: What makes the Nugent pick funnier is that the Jets fans hated -- as usual.

The Jets Draft Flashback was great, so many retarded picks! :lol

JGar should definitely be able to get something done with that level of talent...

Awesome pick up by the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS. Will Allen and Will Peterson have not been playing up to snuff, and Corey Webster looks like he will be able to fill the holes of suck these guys create. I imagine he will play nickel back at the opening of the season, and not unlike Dunta Robinson, will prove his worth. Good pick by the Giants. Let's look for some LBs guys, that's what we need.

I like the Mike Nugent pick. He's a damned fine kicker, and it isn't often that a great kicker comes along.

I didn't like the fact that the Jets traded out of the first round to begin with, but at that point in the draft Nugent is a good pickup.

He'd have looked better in purple and gold :(

a great pickup

and I love J.J. Arrington going to the Cardinals

Ok, so I guess the NFL really hates Justin Miller. I'd be surprised if Jacksonville passes him up...

:lol

Keep on going, the Steelers could probably use a corner. Just do this nine more times.

Well, no way Baltimore, Carolina, or Buffalo take him, but I think that Denver would take him. They were targeting a CB with their 1st rounder before they traded it away, so if they pass on him, I'll just be baffled. I guess some teams didn't like that he was arrested like a week ago, but it was for playing his radio too loud, nothing serious :/

By the way, here's Benson at his best, for Bear fans. This has me feeling a little bit better about the pick, though I think Ronnie Brown will be an absolute stud.

http://www.mackbrown-texasfootball.com//videoclips/2004_05/benson_111104.mov

I hate Prodigy

here's what worried me about Benson though

3 bowl games combined 199 yards on 57 carries 3.5 avg
3 sooner games combined 167 yards on 57 carries 2.9 avg

under 100 yards in all six of those games

Hmmm...Eric Shelton. I like the running back choice, but I think there are better backs available in Moats, and maybe Fason/Barber/Morency.

Shelton fits the Panthers scheme the best though. He is a bulldozer of a RB, and many call him the next Stephen Davis. I personally love the pick and was hoping we'd get him :D

edit: and BTW, stay away from Big 12 RBs. They usually have shitty NFL careers (got this from an article on Page 2 of ESPN :P)

Justin Miller still on the board with the second Jets pick. Assuming they get him, Hoge is going to have to shut up and apologize because Nugent certainly wouldn't have dropped this far.
