Characters, yes, since apparently that's what 99% of the population seems to only care about. Luckily I'm the 1% so I care about the other things so I may be able to still be surprised by things when the game comes out. Very easy to keep GAF as my only gaming outlet.

I'm reading some of the other Smash Boards leak threads. Most of these are hilarious:

I'll make this quick. A friend of mine has been able to get somebody to give him some information on Super Smash Bros. I just got his email about twenty minutes ago. The full email is below, but I don't want this coming back to me, so please don't let this info leave this thread.

"Hey, sorry it has taken a long time to get back to you, but I finally got my coworker to talk after bugging him about it for a while. So as you know, [removed] was able to play a few matches of the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. Here's what he said:
-The newcomers he saw were Duck Hunt Dog, Mach Rider, Chorus Men, and Dark Pit.
-Most of his time was spent with Duck Hunt Dog and Mach Rider, although he did try Chorus Men and Dark Pit once, along with Ganondorf.
-Duck Hunt Dog enters the stage by sniffing the ground. His moveset consists of using ducks (throwing them or using them to recover) and using clay pigeons. His final smash is like Snake's from brawl and all the opponents turn into ducks.
-One of his taunts is laughing which apparently made [removed] chuckle.
-Mach Rider is an interesting character that stays on his bike the entire time
-When he isn't moving, he puts a leg town to stand up
-His moveset consists of ramming opponents with his bike and firing projectiles. His final smash is like Captain Falcon's.
-Chorus Men require lots of precise timing according to [removed]. Most of their moves were very similar and all related to singing. [removed] didn't spend too much time on this character.
-Dark Pit was the last character who just appeared to be a Pit semi-clone. [removed] couldn't tell the differences between them though.
-Ganondorf is still a Captain Falcon clone and [removed] thinks he will be low tier.

That's it. I could ask him more, but he seemed pretty annoyed with my contact asking so I doubt I will get anything else. I could try though."

Well, you remember how he handled the Palutena "leak," don't you? By posting a shot of Angel Land and pointing out the enormous statue of "the goddess of light who watches over this place," and then posting a picture of Zelda and Rosalina on Reset Bomb Forest with Viridi in the background. Regardless of whether the leak is fake or not, he'll find ways to tease us until 9/13.

Usually I see your posts around 1050pm and i'm good to go to bed right after.

I tried to dodge spoilers when Brawl released in Japan. It's impossible. I didn't even frequent any gaming forums at the time and only lasted a week before I found out the last character.

I'll probably do the same as I did for Brawl where I found out who was in, but kept away from a lot of the secret unlockables and the vast soundtrack. Much easier to avoid surprises like that and still feel surprised and accomplished when unlocking new tracks.
 
As long as nobody's dropping unlock methods outside of spoiler tags, I think that's a pretty decent compromise.

Because nothing is going to stop the final roster from getting posted literally everywhere.

I'm getting the game in September so I at least have a shot, but I'm probably going to know the whole roster before I unlock Luigi.
 
I was gonna try to avoid spoilers, but after thinking about it, it ain't happening. Unlock methods are something I want to discover myself, though. Just give me characters and stages and I'll be happy.
 
Thinking about Palutenas reflect barrier, that has to be a dirty edge hog tactic to deny the recovery. Jump off stage, use wall and it pushes the opponent away from ledge. I just wonder if it would let Palutena do another action afterwards in the air..

Pulling the plug on your internet would the trick to avoid spoilers lol
 
Yup, Dunk Hunt's FS should totally make everyone turn into ducks, and you have to shoot at them. White boxes, original sound effects, similar duck patterns and all. Depending on how many you kill, the dog holds them up at the end, or laughs at you.

Perfection.
