I know there was a leak on GameFAQS a few months ago that called Bowser Jr., Duck Hunt Dog, and Shulk, but did it claim anything else?

I still truly believe in my heart that we're getting the Ice Climbers. Whether it be as an unlockable or through DLC.
There's too much that points to them still being in, and I really don't see a wholly unique 1st party character getting cut with no replacement character. (Plus, the Polar Bears man, the Polar Bears!)

I honestly think we've extracted everything we're going to get from the leaks/leakers. There's probably more to be unlocked but I think the leakers are just bullshitting now at this point.

Yeah ICs cut would be a huge let down for me. I don't play as them all the time but they were one of the most interesting concepts on the roster. The newcomers are fucking incredible but seeing 3 vets that would've been pretty easy to bring back (IC 3DS trouble aside) is just a bummer to me.
Either DLC or unlockable, I'm as sure as I can be that they're still in.
Also can we keep in mind that the leak video is from June/July? And that the game has been in active development since then?
Shulk. 9/10. Didn´t play Xenoblade, but I like what Sakurai did to promote this character. Growing up the hype to X. Sadly Wonderful101 didn´t receive this treatment.
Pac-man. 10/10. Great addition, one of the few third parties characters that has the status to be in the game. His moveset is pure joy.
Bowser Jr/Koopaling. 5/10. Although the moveset seems quite fun, I don´t feel like Bowser Jr is one of the best additions within the Mario Series, and to get in front of other series.
Wii Fit Trainer. 9/10. Great addition, represent a good series, moveset fits really well, and I really like how she mixes with the cast.
Villager. 10/10. In my opinion one of the best additions to the series. Have been rooting for him since pre-Brawl days. Great moveset aswell, only missing the fishing rod. The best representativa of the series in my opinion.
Megaman. 10/10. The best third partie character after Sonic. Couldn´t fit better in Smash. Great moveset as well, one of the best desinged in the series in my opinion.
Rosalina. 7/10. A good addition to the Mario Series. Her moveset makes her quite unique, and she represent the Galaxy series really well. Still, would prefer if other characters got in before.
Palutena. 8/10. Great character and her appearence will boost even more the Kid Icarus franchise popularity. Really liked this one.
Little Mac. 10/10. Should have been in Smash since 64 in my opinion. Always felt Punch Out was a big enough franchise that could appear alongside F-Zero or Star Fox if it had more exposure. Would like if his moveset was based more on the Nes version instead of the arcade.
Duck Hunt: 10/10. Although Takamaru, Excitebiker or Mike Jones were probably more suitable for a fighting game, Duck Hunt Dog is, in my op, the best possible retro character since Game & Watch. He is one of the more recognizable characters from the NES era in America. Few games in history have crossed the 25million sell mark. Ansious to see his moveset.
Lucina: 4/10. (9/10 if alternate costume). I don´t agree with Sakurai point of view about clones. Don´t feel that they enrich the game. Will play as her still, cause I enjoy Marth.
Greninja: 8/10. He is quite a popular characters, and amongst the best possible Pokemons left. His moveset suits him very well. Would like if Sceptile got in to complete the start trio with Charizard.
Mii Fighter: 7/10. In my opinion Miis would be better if they were represented as in the Wii Franchises, with their moveset based on that games, instead of this more customized version.
Robin: 8/10. A good way to represent the FE emblem franchise and their latest game. His moveset differs from the other swordman. Haven´t played Awakening yet.
Dark Pit: 3/10. Don´t think that Kid Icarus deserve 3 reps, neither that Pitoo is a good character. Even if the moveset is really different from Pit, an alternate costume would be enough.
Doctor Mario: 3/10. Would be better as an alternate costume.
Characters I think would have been better choices: Andy (Advance Wars), Takamaru (Naso no Murasame), Ridley (Metroid), Isaac (Golden Sun), Chibi-Robo (Chibi-Robo), Paper Mario (Paper Mario), Inkling (Splatoon).

I'm still holding onto hope that we get at least a Rhythm Heaven rep and Ice Climber (solo). Anything else would be just icing.

I dunno about that "new" rumour, sounds to much like "I know someone who works at nintendo" using some of the info of the july rumour that came before.
Not really going to belive in any rumours now (because any new ones are going to try to use things that we already know as a base) until I see the characters leaked by images/video or shown by sakurai.

I just realized something:
If Ice Climbers are cut because of 3DS limitations, how would the Chorus Men work on the 3DS if they're in either?
More than anything, this leak just has me wondering where Nintendo's supposed office in San Mateo is.

Calls to question why Chorus Kids kept coming up so often with mostly trustworthy leaks if this is the final roster though. Not a possibility this info is based off the ESRB stuff? Also weird they only list Wolf and Mewtwo as the vets that aren't returning, unless they figured Lucas/IC/Snake being cut was a given.
EDIT: Or what's up with NeoZeo's recent 5 character comment thing that included Mewtwo, especially since this info is apparently dated from several weeks ago? But then NeoZeo is also verifying this, despite it contradicting several thing's he's already posted himself.
Fuck this is confusing.
Not that they're gonna be in the game, but if they were, they'd probably be a lot lower poly than Ice Climbers, so that'd help.
I'm from the Bay Area and am sort of close to there but I don't really know it well since I don't get out much, but I have definitely never heard of Nintendo having a building in this area.

I just want to say that Bowser Jr. is so perfectly suited to Sakurai’s design strengths. He must’ve had a ton of fun designing the move set. Sakurai seems to like fleshing characters out and inventing attacks that reflect the source material, and the Clown Car is the ultimate sandbox in that regard. It gains new forms, extensions, and projectiles in each new game it appears in, and so it makes sense that it would have even more tricks up its sleeve for Smash Bros. The tongue, the cannonball, the eject button… everything so ingeniously encapsulates the spirit of the Super Mario series.
For me, Bowser Jr. in a Clown Car is the perfect example of a “I didn’t know I wanted it” character.

Eh. Rosalina & Luma got in. A triple character could easily get in. I don't buy that technical reasons would be why IC got cut.
Plus, those are easily the easiest recognized Rhythym Heaven lyrics. It's the only ones I'd recognize. So I don't think Wrestler would be why he used those.

I'm betting mostly stat buffs. Shulk can probably boost Spd, Atk, Def at the cost of others.
Buster and Eater are probably B moves.
Cyclone is probably his Final Smash.

Alright guys, obviously anything could change, but if this is indeed our final list of newcomers:
How do you feel Smash 4 did with it's newcomer selection? I made this picture so you try and think of the newcomers as a whole, not just the ones leaked.
Me personally? A few missed opportunities aside, fucking stoked. 15 new fighters is nothing to scoff regardless of clones, and you could even bump that number to 17 if you count the Mii Fighter as 3 different characters.
I'm trying to look at this set of newcomers not in relation to what I was expecting one or two weeks ago, but in relation to what I was expecting two/three years ago, when we knew nothing. Luckily I kept my roster prediction from back there to remind me where my head was at.
Overall, you'd have to say that this is really, really great. I never suspected 15 new fighters, I thought 10 or 12 at most. At most! And people say we might have more coming, that's amazing, though I'm not sure who to believe.
The biggest deal, for me, is the addition of Mega Man and Pacman. Smash is all about settling those playground disputes, so being able to have Mario fight Sonic, Pacman and Megaman is just blissful.
What I was expecting three years ago in terms of newcomers was
a) Lots of ladies
b) A couple of villains
c) Less clones, with Gannondorf getting 'fixed'
The first came true in a big way, the second two disappointingly didn't. I'm massively surprised that we've gotten two new Mario characters and none from DK, Zelda or Metroid. That's really, really strange to me.
As for my predictions, I called

-New gen pokemon starter
Not bad for 3 years ago! But nowhere near close overall.
10 Random points:
1. Losing Ice Climbers will hurt like a bitch if true. Can't understand why they'd do that.
2. Can't stand Bowser Jr, wish he wasn't in. Koopa Kid alts would ease the pain. Don't like the look of him from videos either, but at least he feels 'new'.
3. The implentation of Miis is so much better than anything I could have anticipated.
4. Getting Lucina and Robin is so much better than the expected Chrom.
5. On the other hand, Shulk is the safe, boring choice from Xenoblade and is a bit disappointing. He looks really bad in videos, too.
6. Duck Hunt Dog is a genius pick, as the Climbers and G+W were before him.
7. Little Mac and Villager were obvious picks, but I love how they've turned out.
8. Dark Pit? Seriously? If this is to please the Japanese I can accept it, but I was really hoping to get Hades. Palutena is pretty tame in comparison too.
9. Speaking of villains, no Hades, no Wolf, no Mewtwo, no Ridley? What the hell is going on here? Have our heroes beat the crap out of their villains so much to the extent that they need a holiday?
10. The only one major issue I still have is the Gannondorf / LoZ thing. He's as major a Zelda character as Link and Zelda, and is treated like shit. Zelda is part of the holy trinity of Nintendo franchises, and it only gets three characters, the same as Kid Icarus, of the one game in 20 years fame? Sort it out, Sakurai.
Overall A- grade.
