Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XIII: Leak Dynasty

I guess so. I just wish the SS Flavion was a standalone stage because TTYD <3

Also Paper Mario 64 is my favorite game of all time and I hope it gets represented too. If not with a stage segment, at least with some good trophies.

Wait Flavio's ship is a part of the Paper Mario stage??? OMG MEGATON IF TRUE

What are the other Paper Mario parts of that stage?

By the way, what does everyone think of the animated trophies theory?

Uprising had them, but I've got my doubts Smash will be the same.

By the way, your previous question about owning a game in all of the series represented in Smash by a playable character....It's fun to notice the 3DS Ambassador's program alone makes you qualify for ten different franchises.

Alright guys, obviously anything could change, but if this is indeed our final list of newcomers:

How do you feel Smash 4 did with it's newcomer selection? I made this picture so you try and think of the newcomers as a whole, not just the ones leaked.

Me personally? A few missed opportunities aside, fucking stoked. 15 new fighters is nothing to scoff regardless of clones, and you could even bump that number to 17 if you count the Mii Fighter as 3 different characters.

I'm pleased, but as somebody who has never played a Fire Emblem game or Xenoblade, there's a lot of same-y looking anime characters on the roster, especially alongside the already similar Marth and Ike.

This is completely random and stupid, but I was just thinking how people who only know Sonic through Smash Bros are going to react to the deeper Roger Craig Smith voice he's got in his series the new Smash Bros.

This came about me thinking it's going to be fun to tease a friend who absolutely loathes Sonic with his semi-annoying taunts this time, who probably doesn't know about the voice change.

Oh dude, I totally get you; TTYD is in my top 10 games of all time. I'd love if we get a variant of the stage on Wii U that switches out SS for the original Paper Mario. I'd love to visit the Crystal Palace or Shy Guy's toy box.

That makes no sense. Outside of the spin-offs and the first NSMB, how in the world would the Koopalings have worked in the games Jr. was in? Jeez Internet, even I'm not THAT irrational.

Gamers were REALLY irrational during the gamecube times, people forget but Luigi's mansion was getting shitted on for not being a 3D maio

People apparently have a strong dislike of Petey Pirahna, which makes even LESS sense to me.

Not for all trophies of course, but I could totally see Sakurai having special ones.

Can someone verify whether Kyle Hyde's trophy in Brawl is animated? Someone mentioned that it was the only animated Brawl trophy, but I can't check that out to see if it's true.

I'm missing Metal Gear Solid, R.O.B. and Wii Fit, otherwise yes, own at least one in the other franchises.

I own a shitliad of mario, pokemon and zelda games.
I own dkc1 for snes
I own multiple copies of every mother game
I have star fox 64 3ds
I own sonic 1 and sonic adventure
I own xenoblade
I got pikmin 3 as my free game
I own fire emblem for gba
Fzero gba due to ambassador program
I own several megamans

I think im missing wii fit and duck hunt

I don't love the selection of newcomers tbh.

I haven't played Xenoblade Chronicles so Shulk means nothing to me at this point.
I've never really been a fan of Pac-Man but I guess he's a good 3rd party choice with a lot of history.
Bowser Jr. is a character I really dislike, although I guess his moveset looks interesting.
Wii Fit Trainer takes the 'unlikely character' thing too far imo, don't like her at all.
Villager deserves to be in, but I'm not a fan of Animal Crossing so he doesn't interest me.
Mega Man is awesome, glad he's in but his moveset doesn't look like all that fun, hopefully I'm wrong there.
Never liked Rosalina in Galaxy.
Palutena probably deserves to be in, but not exactly excited by her.
Little Mac looks fun to play, but never liked Punch-Out!!
Never played Duck Hunt, so the dog means nothing to me.
Lucina is a great addition, but it's super disappointing she's a clone.
I like Greninja enough, but he's a step back from Squirtle.
Mii Fighters turned out a lot better than expected.
Robin looks great.
Dark Pit is uninteresting and another clone, so meh.

Controversial downer opinion time: Xenoblade is a good but overrated game that is a lot worse than it should be to me due to combat that I don't care much for at all and the fact that the open world doesn't appeal to me much, and the Last Story is a bad game and one of the worst RPGs I've ever played. I never played Pandora's Tower because it never looked very interesting to me though maybe in retrospect it would have ended up being my favorite of the three.

*flees*

I'm still glad Shulk is in because I like his design and him as a character in general (I'm a fan of stereotypical JRPG sword-wielding characters, moreso than the average Nintendo characters so the more of them the better)

People apparently have a strong dislike of Petey Pirahna, which makes even LESS sense to me.
Petey's cool enough, it was just kinda weird how he kept showing up in tons of spin-off games after Sunshine but other regular Mario bosses who weren't Bowser or Jr. didn't really get the same treatment.

Does make the 'Rosalina is Nintendo's Lightening!' comments amusing when they did the same thing with Bowser Jr./Petey beforehand after Sunshine, and arguably the same thing with Yoshi after Mario World.

Yes Kyle's trophy in Brawl is animated and it's the only one

I love how the roster has like 51 characters yet some people disappointed. I'm not sure if this speaks well about Nintendo's huge amount of good characters or people are just whiny.

I'd say Shulk is a bit different from most JRPG leads, in that he's actually more or less pretty intelligent and doesn't really have the usual spunky book-dumb protagonist style.

Which is funny, because Petey was hugely popular in the wake of Sunshine. He was in every spinoff game on the GCN, and I remember people on Mario fansites falling all over themselves about how great he was. Once the Wii era came about, however, public opinion did a 180. I think people were just exhausted at how overexposed this character, whose only unique features were that he didn't live in a pipe and his name was Petey, had become.

But I thought it sold well in japan D:

It was number one on the charts the week it released, but that's about all I know. I assume it was relatively popular, though.

Woah, and I thought video games in Japan drop in price easily over time.

To give you some perspective, a used copy of Mario Galaxy 1(!) can easily cost you $50. Some games drop in price with age, but the difference between new and used is often negligible.

I'll keep this vague so as to not spoil stuff, but the entire end game and a certain choice made at the end makes Shulk a great addition for me.

I'm always a bit surprised when people say they don't like Shulk. I think he's a pretty good character and I really enjoy his character arc across the game's plot.

The only reason Bowser Jr. was hated is he was thought to have "replaced" the Koopalings, now that they're back, it seems like the hate has subsided a bit.

But I never got the hate. And from what I hear, doesn't Japan react more positively towards Jr.?

That's still kind of why I dislike him. The koopalings are bursting with character, Bowser Jr. is just bland as hell, from the name to the design. They just took baby Bowser from Yoshi's Island and made him a thing. There is nothing to him whatsoever.

The koopalings have brilliant names (Roy being named after Roy Orbison with the glasses and all will never cease to make me laugh) and iconic designs, and have been around since SMB3, which is practically the beginning of the series at this point.

But of course, as you say, with the koopalings back in a big way it's hard to keep the hate alive. Having them in Mario Kart 8 was incredible, and leaving out Bowser Jr. was even better. Kind of a 'sorry we ignored them, here's a starring moment'. We're cool now. Bowser Jr, you can come back for MK9, lol.

Shulk doesnt have anything to dislike about him, at worse he is possibly the least interesting of his group of friends but isnt anything bad
