If I recall, Neo Zero is basing it on that one screen capture from some thread (the one with the leaked stuff quoted & Ridley outside of the quotes). Granted, MFL aside I'd get my Rhythm Heaven rep, but I doubt we'll get anyone new from Zelda or Metroid.

MFL didn't produce the Palutena leak, the one who made it sent him the files hoping it would convince him to release more images.


Also Ridley is such a wanted character that any list with his name basically comes off as appeasing the masses. Don't fall for it as it can just lead to disappointment. If he is in, bully for you, but if not your heart will never recover. Best to just assume all the lists are fake for now.

I honestly thought BJ would be a Young Link style clone, so legit impressed.

There's like 100 other weapons Dark Pit could use. And holy shit yes, Light v Dark alts for both Pits.

Did he actually say this anywhere? In the quoted chunks he only mentions a 'Nintendo Rep' he somehow has a connection with.

EDIT: Assuming you mean the original /v/ thread MFL posted all this shit at in the first place, the Impa/Ridley/Mewtwo/Dixie/Mach stuff was never mentioned, just the DLC made up of the cut vets and Chorus Kids that later turned out to be bogus stuff he did for shits and giggles.
 
Main and secondaries are based on past experiences and obviously subject to change. The greys are based on trailers so far and how much I like the look of the characters.
Assume anyone with no colours is red because I play every character to some extent and I didn't want to keep hitting ctrl+v.

On the size debate for Ridley, at least with Olimar there's no other character in Pikmin to compare Olimar to. Even the Pikmin 3 trio are around Olimar's size. As long as Olimar's size difference with the Pikmin is about the same as the game, it doesn't look weird when both are increased in size. As for Bowser he's pretty much been every size imaginable (& IIRC, Kamek is apparently the canonical reason for these size shifts). With Ridley, NES (likely for graphical limitations) & Melee (barely 3 seconds, CGI) aside, the guy has been gigantic & was notorious for being gigantic. Could he be downsized, maybe, but it's likely that it won't be as easy as the other 2 characters mentioned.

Keep in mind, I don't hate Ridley, I just don't see him being in the game beyond a boss or a stage hazard. I'll humbly eat crow if he's playable, but right now, I greatly doubt it.

I got over not getting Ridley (and Little Mac to a lesser extent) in Brawl, I'll get over not getting Ridley in SSB4 this time as well.

Everyone always says this, and they may have scribbled down this fact in a manual or some non-canon manga, but in the games he is a giant angry space dragon. I want a game series where you play as Ridley managing the space pirates. He has to discuss strategy, balance the budget, manage rations, talk to disgruntled pirates etc.

The manga is canon, even artwork of it can be found by linking fusion with zero mission with two GBAs. You just dont see ridley talking in the games because they decided not to or just think it would feel ridiculous in game (they had the same problem with aragog in the first harry potter movie and they decided that he would speak telepathically at the end).
We also see in various metroid primes diaries of space pirates even talking about how angry Ridley will be if they dont finish their research. We know Ridley and the space pirate race are sentinent beings, we dont need to see them talking to know this.

This hasnt got anything to do with him being or not in smash, im one of the fans that already made peace with him not being because of the ridley shadow in the direct. If at the end he is in? Perfect. If not? I will not mind that much. I only wanted to state how he and other space pirates are sentinent beings with the capacity to speak, at least in their language.
 
my only gripe with this game so far is that the voice acting for most returning characters seem to the be same as brawl. was really hoping to have new lines
