OMG IS THAT KIRBY?!

Is knowing which veteran characters will make it in from the outset such a bad thing? Most speculation for veterans seems to be along the lines of wondering if they received a visual upgrade, if they were buffed or nerfed, if they have any interesting new moves or costumes. The possibility they might not make it in at all is just a sour undertone most people would be happy to do without.

Most marketing is centred around newcomers regardless, so little would have to change if they adopted such a policy.
That's a good point. Though this might sound silly, I think keeping veterans a secret has its benefits, regardless if the character is a given or not. I think the excitement of seeing a veteran officially being in Smash Bros again is a pretty nice feeling. I had no doubt Wario and Captain Falcon were coming back, but seeing them confirmed was pretty nice, especially with how long I waited for it. This is gonna sound cheesy as all hell right now but it just makes you feel like saying "welcome back!". Hope I'm making sense with this, but I feel that had we known the veteran roster in advance the anticipation wouldn't be as great.

Even then, veterans could be a surprise regardless. Charizard and Dr. Mario are pretty good examples, and to some people ROB, Lucario, Ike, Puff, etc. (Though I don't agree with those lol)

I'm really tired right now (about to go to bed) so I don't know if I'm making sense and it's pretty hard to explain haha. Reading this again it's the same reason why a veteran being cut would be more unfortunate due to the wait, so I guess there's that too? I'm just speaking for myself, of course.

At this rate we should just hand Smash Bros to Platinum so that they can actually work with every Nintendo franchise like some people want them to.

Would be interesting to see Smash Bros done with a completely new eye.

That would Guarantee Bayonetta so i'm all for it.

Much as I dislike paid DLC, I must admit that Nintendo's giving us a good deal. That's a lot of content for $8/$12.

WHAT

This is amazing!

This has quite literally been one of the best weeks ever for Nintendo fans.

Not sure who made this image but I noticed something. The CSS box says "Random." In Brawl if you chose random didn't it instantly choose a character? Or did it wait until the match started? I can't remember.

I am wondering...if maybe the Random box disappears in order to make room for a new character? at some point and clicking on the CSS box chooses a random character again.
Hahahaha this was good.

AW YIS, that's some fair pricing! A decent discount for buying both of them too. :)

I feel like a Direct could come any day now, showing off Pokken Tournament, MK8's DLC, and a Smash reveal or two.

Things are pretty slow now..

We need a PotD with info that was not leaked Sakurai

This.

The hype is deflating quickly after yesterday's leak.

So many people want to be surprised just one more time...I anticipate a lot of disappointment if it's ultimately confirmed that we've uncovered the entire roster. Not disappointment in the actual roster itself, but disappointment that there isn't just a little bit more...

Or even better, a Direct announcement.

It's a given at this point that Nintendo isn't going to announce or reveal all of the characters on the roster prior to release - there just isn't enough time left.

They've got 8 weekdays left to do something before the floodgates open and everything is officially leaked from people who got the game early.

Outlook for smash bros DLC is very very good.

I've been using an external hd since the Wii U launched.

What do you mean by that, for a non-tech saavy like myself.

I couldn't find 3D World, W101, or Tropical Freeze in retail, so I downloaded them. Really need to make sure to pre-order all future big releases.

13 weekdays, and agreed. I'm sure all the PotD have already been planned and written so the leak won't affect them. Sakurai could have prepared for the inevitable leaks a bit better though.
