I can't imagine whats going to happen with the next Smash. A 65+ roster seems unreal but we certainly may get it. But with Smash 7? Good gravy I won't know what to think without massive cuts. At some point character inclusions are going to really slow down. I know people felt like that would be happening with this Smash but some day we will be faced with such a challenge.

Couldnt possibly care less about dixie but yes hes that biased, Dark pit went from being an alt color in brawl to being its own slot.

Most of those are copy/pasted from other fighting games. Hard to use that as a standard.

UMvC3 has 50, and they're all fresh creations.

Most of the MvC3 characters are sourced from MvC2 (which sourced them from a dozen other capcom fighting games) or from Tatsunoko versus Capcom. They still made an awful lot of completely new characters for MvC3 though but it's not like they developed them all fresh for this game. Just like SSB has a lot of characters from previous games in the series only with minor tweaks.
