Pit and Princess Zelda were shown off alongside all the other Amiibos they're releasing, but they're not in Wave 1. I'm guessing that they're the first two in Wave 2 alongside some of the 3rd party fighters and the other characters that missed the boat this time around.
Which is a shame since Pit was the only one I really wanted.

When the trailer started I knew right away that it was on Bionis, but because it was Bowser I thought that maybe Shulk would attack Bowser and then there would be gameplay clips of him and then it would go back to CG with Bowser Jr. coming in to help his dad.

When watching the trailer I thought it was really gonna tease Ridley again.

I guess, you always fight five characters in a row. Since Pit and Paulentine are missing, there will be a "1986-???" set. There is still a possibility for Ridley to be part of the other set.Was this already discussed?
If this is All-Star Mode, then it looks like there's no playable Ridley, as he made his debut on the same year as Samus.

So this statement still doesn't exclude more characters, as the roster is already over 50, as they'd consider each Mii on its own as they have with Sheik and Pokemon Trainer in the past.

Yeah, that's interesting. Given that we know from the leak that there are over 50 characters (unless you count the three types of Mii Fighters as one, which Sakurai doesn't)... I wonder why it'd say "over 40" and not "over 50?" Certainly "over 50" is a much more enticing advertisement. Hmm.

Man, every shot in FD mode makes me sad. I want platforms, but I don't want to deal with stage hazards. Gimmicks are fine enough (stuff like walk offs, traversal and transforming), but I want the option to enjoy the stage layout as well without dealing with bosses and other extra stuff.

Honestly if we hadn't gotten the video leak, this would have been an entertaining weekend watching all the hoops some would have jumped through while wearing a duck suit and a leek.
