Where's ma boy Skullhydra at? I heard he has a uber awesome new avatar now

Man Next friday? 11 days till I know if Lucas is still in or not? I can't believe we're that near already. I'm totally in btw
It's awesome alright. So awesome it made me go turn off avatars in my settings because I wasn't worthy.

I find it interesting that A) the first line of amiibos has 12 figures, B) there are 48 characters in the leak, not counting the Mii Fighters, and C) there are exactly 12 characters not on the "starting roster" image.

All lines up a bit too well, I think. Release them in waves of 12 every few months and by the time you get to hidden characters everyone already know about them.

Best outdoor EVER

Exactly. And anyway, Sakurai created her to begin with, so he can do whatever he wants with his waifu, I guess.
Sakurai fleshed Palutena out in Uprising, but he didn't actually create her. Sakurai was in high school when the first Kid Icarus came out.

Factory resetted my 3ds and changed my smash preorder to fedex for faster delivery...now the waiting game.

Have we decided if importers are getting their own OT or not and how do we share FCs? Never joined a game community on Gaf before so I'm clueless

Watching the Smash Direct again made me remember how some people thought Mii was disconfirmed since Prince Mii appear in the Find Mii stage :lol

I'll put facecam in, else there will be too much whitespace.

But yeah, Friday, after it has downloaded (and after any ORAS news has come), I shall be streaming Smash 3DS for you all :)

I haven't been following this game as much as I should have.

What are the differences between the 3DS version and the Wii U besides the stages, smash run, and I think trophies? Will the Wii U have its own exclusive mode and whatnot?

It should but they haven't detailed it. Expect news after the 3DS version comes out.

Kirby don't give a shit, Sakurai's not doing another Kid Icarus game anyways.

Kirby seems no worse for the wear from losing Sakurai anyway. Sure, he stumbled around drunkely for a few years with his asshole friends from Capcom, but he's back on the wagon now.

Palutena's currently whoring Pit out just to make a living wage.

I'm rewatching all the reveals + Direct and stuff again and man, do I love this franchise.

This is the only series I've bought every game at launch, still have even the n64 cartridge around that I spent so many hours into as a kid. I spent more hours than I can count into them, they introduced me to a lot of other games I now love and I've been following the competitive scene and playing Project M for almost 2 years now. I hope it keeps doing the same with younger people.

I guess I'm sentimental, but I want to thank all of you for sharing the hype, the memories and the excitement (as well as magazines, smashboards or anything that helped for the previous games). It really is almost as fun to wait as to play thanks to all the fans and Sakurai's reveals.

off-topic but

IGN: Is that the reason why Metroid: Other M has taken on a more Japanese style and flavor, to get the Japanese market more interested in the franchise?

Sakamoto: We are conscious of that, and Japanese market acceptance is in our mind. There's an expression in Japanese, where someone dislikes a food without ever having eaten it. You have to offer those people a certain incentive to taste the food to prevent them from saying that they don't like it. So, we're trying a new approach here and we're trying to pull a new audience in to see if they like it. Having said that, we're still going for a global acceptance with Metroid Other M, but we're trying a game style that has worldwide market appeal that even Japanese people will like.
Why is everything about this game such a clusterfuck? It's the exact same shit that happened with DmC.

There was some couple doing a 24 hour Stream of MK8 when it came out. For every 6 subscribers, they'd add an hour to the clock.

They played the game for a month and a half straight. That's how many subscribers they got. At 2.50 a pop per subscriber, they probably made months worth of salary just because they got in early on a new, hot game.

I don't remember their channel's name anymore, but I did follow them for awhile and after MK8 they streamed some Minecraft for a day and then never streamed again.

You get in early with a high quality capture, be reasonably good at the game. There's a lot of money to be made.

That's a pretty good idea to be fair.

I'm really really looking forward to streaming smash 4 WiiU, probably going to do a 24 hour stream of it when it comes out but I guess it won't be as interesting considering the 3DS version will have been out for months.

Also, I haven't really put much thought into the rules yet, I'm waiting for the 3DS version to come out so I can see what custom moves are like before I decide that, but I think I'm going to give away an elgato HD for the winner of the christmas WiiU tournament.

I need to buy a new one anyway that does 60fps, unless people wouldn't want one that only does 30fps? You could always just sell it anyway considering it's worth around £70.

Hell make it 20! Glad to have you in the community, man!

Palutena before Sakurai and team: Who gives a shit?

Palutena after Sakurai and team: Awesome character!

As far as I'm concerned, he and his team of writers DID create Palutena

It's the difference between a character and a characterization

Sakurai's creation was the latter :p

There's also the saying of don't fix what isn't broken...tho I've never played a metroid game so I could be wrong.

Makai will be streaming too, and i'm going to try to join some of his online battles if he lets me. I'm going to embarrass myself in front of all of you :p

Sakamoto just chose the worst possible outcome for every decision around the creation of Other M, it's ridiculous just how bad the game is.

Can someone tell me what's so bad about other m? I actually have a copy, but need to wait till I get a Wii u to play it.

Sorry to keep hogging the top of the pages guys! I mentioned this a while back, but I'm now more officially moving forward with trying to get a voice chat group going. And since it's me, here's a graphic!

agyzuv.png

When I brought this up initially, there was a pretty good response of people who wanted to be involved. Being able to communicate with the people I'm playing with is really a big part of gaming, so I'd really love to set up a way for us to bypass the inevitable lack of chat on the 3DS version; hopefully the Wii U will have chat built in, but if not there's only more reason to do this.

I'm still not 100% on what program/site I will want to use, but for now I'm planning on Skype. If we can organize a list of who wants to chat, you should be able to just make a friends list and create a group chat with whoever is in your party. I'm also hoping to host a tournament for the Wii U version (more on that soon!), so if spectator mode is any good, this would make watching the matches a hell of a lot more exciting and make people in the community a lot more personable.

Also, if you don't like the thought of your voice being heard or are hearing impaired in anyway, this could also be great for just holding text conversations; probably a lot better than trying to talk to a group of people in the madness that will be the OT at launch.

So, all that to say: I wanna hear you guys talk! Smash just isn't complete to me if I can't have someone cursing at me while I counter with my own vulgarities. Let me know if you'd be interested in this or have any ideas on how to improve this idea. I really love this community and hopefully this has the potential to strengthen it.

Its a case by case basis.
I personally loved ever minute of Other M aside from a few pixel hunt sections.
You really just need to try it. If you arent feeling it after a hour it won't get better for you.
