It's hard to say at this point, but I have a feeling I'll end up liking the Wii U selection more, if for no other reason than more music options.
N's castle does look great, as well as the Pacman stage.

Thinking about it I would do the same.
We would be missing a bird character sure but Villains are more needed.

Doctor Mario's Final Smash is going to be Mario Finale. Just like Toon Link's Final Smash is Triforce Slash, Sheik's Final Smash is Light Arrow, and Wolf's Final Smash is Landmaster.

Falco has been here since melee. No way I'd cut him.
You're obviously not the only one to think that, but I would rather have Falco, Falco is just too cool.
He's also massively popular in competitive smash compared to Wolf.

Yeah, not only is he an awesome villian, but his moveset was more varied as well. He truly felt like a different character compared to Fox and Falco.
Although I get the senority thing.
Also my favorite member of the Star Fox team, which makes it weird that I'm saying this.

But on the same hand, the 3DS barely has any new stages it seems based on the leak. We've got 3D Land, Golden Plains, Paper Mario, Rainbow Road, Gerudo Desert, Spirit Tracks, Prism Tower, N's Castle, F-Zero, Arena Ferox, Magicant, Kirby GB, Reset Bomb Forest, Tortimer's Island, Nintendog, Tomadachi, Mii Quest, Duck Hunt, and Pac-Maze.
Only 19 new stages...that's excluding the ones present on the Wii U version as well like Wily and Gaur Plains. Pretty sad.

It's really easy to come up with unique customs for the original characters and their clones so it'll be disappointing if they are both the same.

That is a good point. Somehow those are usually kept under lock and key these days for most games, at least the Nintendo games I follow. Weird though that their contents wouldn't be spoiled more often, though.

I always thought a good FS for Toon Link would be based off him being the hero of winds and the hurricane spin. He activates his FS which causes him to spin around like his hurricane spin. He spins so fast he creates a twister above where he is spinning. He can move around the stage moving the twister with him sucking up opponents. He can fall to other platforms but he can't jump. If anyone gets hit directly by his sword its a near Ko. Anyone caught up in the twister gets dealt a lot of damage.

The screen fills up with Viruses and you have a brief opportunity (if you're not Dr. Mario) to fight your way out of them with extreme difficulty.

The picture leaked with All-Star padlocked wasn't from Motherfucker Leaker, and wasn't in the ESRB Imgur leak, right? The "All-Star" guy on /v/ leaked it. We don't know if they're from the same "source", and even if it was, there's no guarantee the ESRB video was necessarily comprised of chronological footage. I could easily see one part of the video showing the default menu, and another showing the full character selection.
I'm not getting my hopes up.

When they call Ridley an "overseas" character, they really just mean most of his popularity is overseas. Donkey Kong Country historically performed well in Japan, Metroid did not and is not as well-remembered there.

I don't know though, being a massive fan of both DK and Metroid I find it hard to believe K. Rool would be (rightfully) requested that much and yet Ridley isn't.
It'll probably be a green Mario Finale that's electricity instead of fire.

I don't. Super Metroid and Metroid Prime bombed in Japan. The series is not popular there, and attempts to make it more popular there haven't been very successful. Ridley appeals to Metroid fans, there aren't many Metroid fans in Japan, there aren't many people asking for Ridley.
I want to say Japan has incredibly bad taste but they voted K. Rool so highly so I can't say that.
So many conflicting emotions.
Better normals makes it a no brainer for me. I'm not even familiar with the Mother series aside from playing the first third or so of Earthbound so I don't really have much of an opinion in regards to if I like Ness or Lucas more.
I've only played the first half of Earthbound and Mother 3 but Ness has always been my Smash main, he's just so good... in a "one of the worst characters in the game" sort of way. But that's more Sakurai's fault for not giving him good tools, Project M Ness is great.
Lucas was awful in Brawl imo, Project M made him a bit better but I still can't stand the little shit.
Mewtwo is the only good character from Melee that was not in Brawl.

I thought Super Metroid did alright in Japan? I forget the exact source I read that, though (feel free to flame if turns out to be Chartz).
It definitely wasn't DKC numbers, but not Metroid Prime numbers. Regardless, it makes sense as to why they're not crazy about Ridley.
