Then the uneasy relationship they have with Nintendo is probably going to get a lot more litigious.

Nintendo is being nice as it is by allowing Project M to exist, I wouldn't push my luck if I were a member of the team.

I guess they're just counting their blessings that Nintendo's not going after this like Hasbro...

Nintendo not bothering them is moreso with the team taking measures to not step on Nintendo's toes. No characters that are playable in Smash 4, and making sure to state that they only support official disk versions of Brawl officially.

Brawl+ just changed up the game play.

Project M did that and so much more. It changes the gameplay as well as adds it's own original content.

It's cutting into the mindshare of Nintendo's IPs using unauthorized resources. They're only saving grace is that they're not directly profiting. And I don't consider Project M a stand-alone game for the same reason I didn't consider the Oblivion mods Frostcrag Reborn or the Lost Spires; they ran on existing engines and lacked enough autonomy from their base systems to merit being classified as a different game.

This is me in the middle of this Smash / Project M debate

Saving this for future use in these.

Lucas normals were different from Ness' in Brawl though.

Say what? I always thought the pink suit was based on the NES Varia suit sprite.

Yeah I don't know what Sakurai's smoking with that one. The only pink suit in Metroid is the NES Varia Suit, Super's Gravity is clearly purple, just not as deep a purple as Prime's.

Are you certain? The Super Metroid gravity suit looks a bit pink to me without the lighting affecting it:

Well, I thought most people already assumed that because of the Bowser Jr., Shulk, etc. stuff.

Though I don't think it confirms the top item about potentially cut characters. I can't remember the exact time, but that post is months old.
