I wonder how many OTs we'll go through when the game comes out.

Speaking of which, are we gonna have a Japanese Import OT or are we just using this until the game comes out in NA?

There's going to be an OT for the Japanese release, don't know if it'll be the same one for international.

Sakuraba making Starfox Music? All for it!

Cool to see Yuzo Koshiro doing some more stuff with Wrath of the Reset Bomb. Game seriously needs Aurum Island though. Easily his best song in the game.

If it's in, I hope it's the original version. It'd lose so much of its charm if it were rendered with synth instruments.

There will be a 3DS OT as soon as the japanese version is out afaik
But this OT will still progress for people who are still waiting

We also have to assume that they showed off ZSS and ZSS alt costumes for ESRB, but those shots/footage are nowhere to be found. That or they knew the ESRB doesn't care about skin-tight outfits, and only care about actual cleavage/sideboob - but I doubt that's the case.
With that, we have reason to believe it might not have been finished. Sakurai said they were only just able to get it done in time. Thanks female designer!

I don't think we're getting another Smash Bros. Direct. It's too close to the 3DS version's Japanese launch.
I think the most likely scenario for Smash Bros. info in a Direct will be after the international launch of the 3DS version, where Sakurai details Wii U-exclusive modes and maybe DLC characters
like Ice Climbers

The main theme for the new Smash makes me so happy.

I fucking hated Brawl's theme so much and got so bored of hearing it everywhere. Didn't feel like Smash Bros at all. But this one brings the hype the same way Melee did back in the day.

This made me remember something I wanted to mention here: Brawl's whole tone is... odd. At the time I absolutely loved its "epic" approach, but comparing it to the waay more lively, colorful tone they're aiming for with SSB4, it just looks kinda boring and drab. I was playing it the other day and it looks like there's literally a layer of dust on top of everything draining the colors away.

The music on that game is great, but yeah, Smash should be way more light-hearted than how it was presented in Brawl. I do admit it grabbed me at the time, but in terms of visual presentation, I think I'm loving SSB4's approach way more.

Man Dark Suit Samus looks so nice, gotta love those palettes. Though I'm a little bit sad Samus didn't get a proper alternate costume at all - I was really hopign she'd get SOMETHING, if only just so that I wouldn't have to play as her Other M design. Ooohhhhh well.

Same here. It's a problem I never knew I had until Smash 4 showed me how it could be done better. Going back I still barely notice it in Brawl, but everytime I see Smash 4 I'm pretty glad they changed visual direction.

I still can't get over how cool the Dark Samus alt is. In battle you'd never even notice the costume is slightly off, in action it will be as if you're playing Dark Samus, it's spot on.

Pretty sure the tracks we've heard mostly are orchestral.

Guys, I think the Mysterious Invaders should 100% be a track.

No question asked.

Man the closer we get to release the more I really regret not partaking more in the SmashGAF hype.

It just ain't gonna be the same once the game's out. The journey is almost equally as important as the game itself with this franchise. There's no hype quite like Smash hype.

SmashGAF hype is a hype of its own.

This is also how I feel. I loved it when I was sixteen because I thought it was "serious". Now that I'm like thirty or whatever I really love the fun/championship games feel of Melee and Smash 4.

On a different matter: Do we have a source for anybody who will be doing a data dump of the game when it's out? We have so many questions that a look at the data can answer.

It's always bugged me how broad Samus's shoulders are in her suit when she's shown as having quite a small frame in the Zero Suit.
It's so she looks badass enough for boys to feel comfortable enough playing as her in game and so they don't feel threatened when she takes it off and has the size 0 waist and supermodel looks they'd expect from a woman instead of a realistic one. It makes no sense and Other M took Brawl's ZSS sexualisation to another level but regardless the armour is still awesome and sleek.

It's been discussed loads of times before on here and elsewhere but it always bewilders me how her body is meant to fit in some of her armour but at least she's not a damsel in distress.

Around 10 days until JP release. Not sure how much I'll gorge on info like trophies and stuff but I need confirmation of the characters for sure. I'm still a bit wary until I see video of the other characters.

I thought he had a Fountain of Eternal Youth filled with the tears of fanboys. Why else would he cut characters like Mewtwo, Ice Climbers, and Snake?

Those tears are given to his cat as a cat diet supplement.

Haha, yes, the man looks extremely good for his age. Still looks the same as I remember him when I saw him in a magazine when melee came out

Wrath of the Reset Bomb doesn't sound like synth, and if it is, it's really close to the original.

It seems synthesised to me - the articulations just seem so artificial. And while it's well done, it doesn't compare to the original's live orchestration. I'd have much preferred for Koshiro to have done something similar to his Pokemon arrangement and supplemented the orchestra with some guitar parts and electronic percussion; it would have helped in disguising the instruments' artificiality and adding to the piece's momentum.

I've been telling people that since trailer 1. I was that crazy old man who knew what was approaching before the rest of the world even realized it. Luckily we survived it all and lived to see such a bright and shiny day!

For all of its faults, I can at least commend SSB4's ZSS for not being as much of a stick figure as the Other M version of the character. Seriously, look at her tiny little arms.

Along with a less oversaturated hair colour and less dainty facial structure, I do like that SSB4's Samus at least has something resembling muscle tone.

I could be way off but I still think we'll get at the very least a Smash 3DS Direct before the Western release. I'd be surprised if they don't want to build up hype further and that's a good way to do it. I could also see it just being part of a larger Direct in that same time frame, though.
