So… just out of curiosity, who would you guys say are the 10 most iconic/notable Nintendo characters yet to be playable in Smash Bros.? Here’s my list, not in any particular order:

1. Toad
2. Dixie Kong
3. Too many Pokémon to name (Meowth, Eevee, Blaziken, etc.)
4. Nintendog
5. Dr. Kawashima
6. Isabelle (and other Animal Crossing characters like K.K. Slider and Tom Nook)
7. Excitebiker
8. Balloon Fighter
9. King K. Rool
10. Ridley

The level of disrespect and bad treatment to DK and Metroid is just sickening. These two series are totally being shafted. Does Sakurai have something against retro studios?

Sakurai has nothing against western games, he just dislikes it when fresh, young foreigners take franchises many of his close friends developed and change them to fit the taste of westerners.

ZSS got a big overhaul, alt costumes actually have some effort in them for both Samus', it got two awesome new Assist Trophies and is one of the few series to get a stage boss.

What? He did better than Megaman. Shulk One-hit KOed Bowser, and managed to keep up with MARTH and LINK without suffering any damages. Megaman on other hand even though he did good at first when DK KOes him he's seriously damaged and is even heating.

Ah, alright. I was thinking if they could Chase in a non-LEGO form but then again that would take the magic from his character.

I'm more pissed by the lack of a new character as playable. Also the fact that Samus has no alt costumes and just a bunch of colors. When Dark Samus and the Light Suit could have been alt costumes.

Edit: I'm more pissed about Donkey Kongs treatment.

Yeah, seriously, Mega Man is the only one to get the shit kicked out of him. The only other one even close to Mega Man in terms of getting their ass kicked was Lucina.

Is this a meme or something? I know he says it in Xenoblade, but I thought nothing of it. Did people think the lines were so cheesy they were good or something?

I've noticed a lot of people have latched onto this line in particular. Guessing it's become the token memetic line amongst those who'd never played Xenoblade before.

Which is just as well, since Shulk does have a lot of lines about "feeling it" in the actual game, too. (Although I always preferred "We can definitely do this!")

Both DK and Metroid got huge representation in the SSE plot, much more than even Pokemon or Mario. Now, in Smash 4, it's time for Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus to shine!

Mario and Pokémon are so far ahead of the rest of Nintendo’s properties that I consolidated Pokémon to a single slot and ignored the Mario enemies/side characters. Obviously something like a Goomba is “iconic,” but I don’t think it occupies the kind of role that would make it a plausible playable character in Smash Bros.

Exactly, Metroid is fine how it is.
Ridley has also been given the position he deserves as a boss in 2 games running now, rather than being neutered to accommodate being playable.

DK on the other hand has Dixie, Cranky, Funky K Rool and Rambi. Dixie should be playable and at least 2 of the others should be assists.
