Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

He's a super awkward person who may or may not have a mental disease. He's pretty much exactly what you'd think a professional smash bros player would be like haha as far as stereotypical nerds go.

Doesn't he have autism? I thought that was the source of his awkwardness.

I play mostly Zelda on brawl, how the living fuck do you do that?! That's amazing. I can't control her teleport at all

Zero Suit Samus seems pretty unchanged. Thinks she will be a good character for beginners because of her whip.

Peach's float seems to last for the same amount of time.

Sheik is the most aggressive character so far. Almost no landing lag and maybe the most combo potential in the game.

Dude, your updates are getting really fucking
helpful. Keep it up.

Zibzo says "So you know it's a fact," every character has lagless options.

When asked for combos, he says Sonic has some great combos due to new hitstun. Sonic's dash attack has multiple hits.

Link is definitely better. He's faster.

Zelda's up B is now a viable KO move. When you teleport near someone, it'll knock them up. She can they teleport to where they are and potentially KO them from this second hit.

Reiterates how strong Marth's counter is.

is it just me or does mew2king seem kinda like an asshole. i haven't really seen him be nice to people at all, especially on this chat...

Sounds like you haven't seen the Smash Bros documentary. You should, it's great! He and many other smashers are in it and you can see their personality and stuff. First episode is kind of weird but it gets better.

He's just really blunt and honest -- though in the chat he acts differently than I've seen him act in on live streams and stuff. Remember, he has... I think it's aspergers or a form of autsim? So he's not really socially aware of things like a normal person. If he's being mean, he doesn't really know he is he just sees himself as being brutally honest.

Zipzo says he's definitely super excited for the game after playing it. Increased run speed and removal of tripping alone have been a huge change.

Rosalina has similar physics to Palutena. Calls her tank. (This is odd to me, as we've heard she's a lightweight, correct?)

Palutena's ground movement is pretty fast. Her combat is not very quick, must be apprehensive when choosing what moves to use. Huge range on her attacks. Her up aerial reminds him of Pit's side-b from Brawl.

Reiterates every character has moves that have no/little landing lag.

Tiers are so stupid.

They're stupid when people try to rate characters right when the game comes out, when there's been no tournament data and a lack of match-up data. They're fine and useful when the game has been out for some time and characters start to level out more.

Rosalina is light in this game because of anti-gravitationnal stuff or something.
Or maybe it was a joke?

Edit : just checked, it's true.

He spent untold hours dissecting Melee to discover frame data and compiled over sixty lists regarding it when he was 13 or so. I doubt he is what you would call a people person. Nintendo didn't invite him to the Invitational for a reason.

It's Monday in some parts of the world. Smash comes out this week. Smash. Comes out. THIS WEEK.

damn i feel bad now. I actually work around autistic children i should know how to pinpoint this stuff, lol.

But I DID expect him to have some sort of problem. As for watching the smash documentary, I think i only watched 1.5 of the videos, i guess i'll watch the rest of them. I was just confused why everybody loves him so much when he appears so....mean. lol

Shields are definitely easier to break. Mario was shielding and Zibzo was able to break the shield with two d-tilts from Sonic. (0_o What!? That's going to be a huge game change and explains Bowser's shield breaker at SDCC)

While a lot of move sets are the same, most of the move effects and how they connect with other characters feel different. (Really seems like the "built from the ground up" quote is true, despite similar aesthetics to old moves)

Toon Link still has old school Link costume.

Bonuses after match reconfirmed.

He says it reminds him of Project M in the sense that every character has a very unique style. There's a definite a play style shift when changing between characters.

Zelda, Palutena, and Villager seem to have the best recoveries. Villager's can be interrupted.

I wonder where they got her size info then? I imagine a God would probably be able to change their size on demand, would be he least of their troubles.

Palutena's height is all over the place. Normally, she's above average as shown in Uprising's
Chaos Kin
fight and the anime shorts, but she's also able to project herself as a giant.

Anyways, only Medusa and Hades were shown to be consistently gigantic throughout the game.

I don't follow the tournament scene, but isn't this stuff about Sheik being crazy aggressive the same reason that people disliked Pit and Meta Knight in Brawl so much? That talk kinda makes me worry that everyone will, like, just be Sheik,

Because of blast zones, he again states 4 stock is too much most likely for tournament play.

Little Mac's aerials truly are horrible.

Peach's turnip throw is much harder to spam (didn't hear why).

Keeps stressing how nice it is how different characters feel. He even feels equipment could be an interesting feature to have for tournaments.

You press X on Stage Select to switch to FD mode.

EDIT: I gotta go eat guys, so that's all the posts for now. Sorry!

Villager's recovery is ridiculous. I remember using it to go from the bottom left of Smashville (under the stage) flying underneath the stage and going up and above its right side.

Has there been any word on the connectivity between the 3DS and Wii U versions? I feel like we've only heard about Amiibo transference.

Custom parts (moves, equipment and Mii hats/outfits) are also transferred between the two.

That's about all we've heard though.

That's good, that's really good.

But if your baloons pop, farewell Villager.

I've heard less than great things about M2K. I don't know him personally so I can't definitively say anything about his personality.

But Aspergers and Autism don't make someone behave the way I've heard he does in stories. Those disorders can result in someone being socially awkward or inept at reading social cues, but more often than not it does not make them an asshole. Curt or blunt is about as harsh as Aspergers and Autism personalities come. Not straight up dickishness.

And I'm not claiming M2K is doing this at all, but people do like to diagnose themselves with these disorders and hide behind their (invalid) diagnoses to excuse their behavior.

I do that with Pit's recovery on Brawl all the time. Hilarious trolling until you play on a level like Pokemon stadium which has a bar down the middle below the stage...

I wonder if Jigglypuff is going back to being the first character unlockable, I hope so cuz I'm dying to see footage of her, I want to know what costumes she's having and all.

Man, this thread moves so fast it has turned me back into a lurker! Especially lately there is so much info to catch up on a read through all the pages instead of just skipping and catching up to the current conversation.

I'm so psyched for this game with all this new info! The only disappointing thing is people I normally main are getting little to no info coming out about then (DeDeDe, Luigi, Olimar) but all the other info is exciting! Hopefully it keeps flowing all week until release!
