Man, watching this really, really drives home how well they nailed Mega Man's sound effects. The little bleep when he lands from a jump, the sounds of the buster, his death noise, even his special weapons. It's all so authentic.

Thank you, Smash Bros team.

Right? That's one of my favorite things about his implementation in Smash. His sound effects are PERFECT. I especially love that they brought over the original Top Spin sound effect. <3

It does have a pretty interesting scrolling HP bar that introduces a different sort of real time element. You're given the opportunity to save yourself from lethal blows by acting quickly before your HP rolls to zero.

It's similar to the premonitions in Xenoblade, actually. Different execution, same concept.

Hey folks, I was walking home from the shops when a homeless person flagged me over. I went over, curious and they told me the most bizarre thing: They had once been a medium but had fallen out of employment when the spirits had stopped speaking to them. However, just as I had been walking past, they heard a whisper from beyond for the first time in many years!

Apparently they were being contacted by the departed soul of a construction worker who had been killed in a tragic accident during the building of the venue that would many, many years later become the site of the Nintendo Closed Media Event at PAX Prime 2014! This wandering soul had witnessed such amazing things at the event that it just HAD to share with someone from the mortal realm. I quickly got out a pad of paper and wrote down the homeless medium's babblings, getting a list of newcomers from them before they began to froth at the mouth and their eyes rolled back in their head.

In addition to what we already know the following characters are totally in the game:
* Lip - lead character from Panel de Pon, creates and manipulates puzzle blocks to control the battlefield and attack
* Dixie Kong - featuring her trademark helicopter hair and jellybean crossbow.
* Peppy - Starfox. Moves much slower than the other spacies but has a unique final smash that involves getting into an Arwing and barrel-rolling repeatedly around the screen
* Monita - Nintendoland. Attacks with abilities based on the various minigames from the game including sending the luigi's mansion minigame ghost out in a way similar to Zelda's phantom slash move. Also has 'dark monita' alt

Yeah, only 4 more. There might have been extra but that's as far as they got before they lost consciousness. It's from a homeless spirit medium so you know it has to be legit :3

I'm really hoping that it appears in the Wii U version too. When I saw the "Who's that Pokemon" trophy thing in the Direct with Tiki, and Purpose played, I was hype as hell. Didn't really get that hype again until he started talking items.
