We should do something similar to what the pokemon community does on GAF with gym leaders, except make it a "GAF all star thing".

We all decide who the best person is with each character and anyone that can beat every single person gets a special thing they can put on their avatar or something, and if you think you're a better character main than the current one then you can challenge them to a 1v1 3-stock to replace them.

Just spit balling ideas for community events.

I would be down with this if I (or whoever is better than me) can be the All Star Random Button. That's my main.

I've been hearing the same dumb jokes for the past 8 years. They're not going to get any funnier.
I've been on the receiving end of the same smug self-satisfactory asshole attitude towards other people not getting what they would've liked for the past 13 years. That's not going to get any funnier, either.

I guess it's my own fault for being a fan of series that Nintendo considers as their stepchildren, so hoping for some love for them by its mascot fighter is stupid. I guess it's my own fault for not being interested in kawaii animu magical sword fighters that seem to be the only thing that has a solid shot at being represented in Nintendo's mascot fighter at this point.

Am I taking it too seriously? Maybe. I guess it is taking things too seriously when I'm fed up at having really only 1 character I'm really interested in making it into the roster - and that's not even a Nintendo character - and all the axed characters being ones that I actually enjoyed playing as. Perhaps also that I'm miffed that my favorite Nintendo series are being constantly shafted, and have been for over a decade now, by the mascot fighting game that is supposed to encompass Nintendo as a whole. And then there's so many assholes in this thread that are constantly rubbing that fact into my face while laughing at my disappointment that the things I am hoping for will never have a chance to make it in.

I apologize for lashing out at you, but I'm seriously tired of all the shitposting, and all the crap about "delicious tears of delusional fans". I just can't stand the disgusting schadenfreude. I shouldn't have thrown you in that pot there, but that "Anything that has Ridley on it is fake"-line just seemed so smug to me.

I guess I just lost all hope. And almost all hype. I think Wolf, Lucas and Ice Climbers being cut were the final stroke for me.

Nah dude, I understand the feeling, particularly when it comes to being a huge fan of the Metroid series. It was a smug line, to be sure, but it wasn't really intended to seriously get anyone's goat in particular.

I'd sincerely like to get Ridley in, and definitely more Metroid representation, but I guess I've just kind of moved on in some ways, like with Issac and Paper Mario. I'll still root for them to get in, but if someone's going to joke about them not being in, I'm self aware enough to laugh at it. I think it helps that I'm perfectly fine with the roster at this point, though.
