Oh great;

My main is a frost mage, I'm leveling a rogue and I really want an unholy death knight.
I can't really see the rogue issue yet as I'm not level 70 (Or near it. Don't have any time to play for a long time

), but I really see the point in frost.
Deep Freeze is really over powered for PVP right now. Problem is what do you nerf? Any balance to PVP may ruin the spell for PVE. Right now it looks like the stun may break after some damage (should quite honestly break after any damage) and deal about 150-200 less damage on max rank.
Improved Scorch was fixed so only successful scorches work (previously if a scorch resisted it still applied the debuff) and arcane blast's debuff is now 200% instead of 300%. Not sure how its applied (meaning is the last one 9%*400%, or is it (9%*200%)*200% which would still be devastating).
Right now, depending on gear, I might go for either deep frost for frost damage, or main arcane with 22 frost for frost damage (as arcane damage talents affect all schools of magic in the high tier part of the tree) for raiding. Deep frost will have a much more interesting spell rotation (with deep freeze and ice lance), while the arcane- frost hybrid will be a frostbolt rotation for sustained dps with devastating crits (spell power+ice shards).
Right now I favor the arcane-frost hybrid quite a bit for raiding, and deep frost for leveling, farming and PVP.
The hybrid is also very forgiving for mana (more spirit, more regeneration, lowered cost for frost spells) and provides 4% spell haste from arcane, icy veins and arcane power (along with cold snap) with a lot of room for additional spell haste thanks to 15% more intellect and a lot of mana regeneration with little mana cost for spells.
All the frostbolt empowering talents might be missed, but since there is no snare effect on bosses it's possible to use
Glyph of Frostbolt that will not only make the spell 5% stronger (making all talents a bit better), but removes the spell damage coefficient penalty (spells with an untalented secondary effect gain 5% less spell power) which may add to quite a bit by level 80.
Any other mages really eager to try frost (until we finally have the mana to move back to arcane)?
