Forza Horizon 2 Launch Trailer

Looks really damn good! I'm still confused what the game actually is... just a big ol' sandbox that you drive around in and wreck havok?

It's an open world racer. There are lots of events around the map. Some will be more closed track in nature, while others will allow you to drive literally anywhere, ie, create your own shortcut. The map has no boundaries.

There is structure to it but you do not just go from one race to the next. You drive to them and explore the world in between and if it is anything like the first one you can get distracted by even running over stuff along the road because they have built in a Kudos like system (RIP PGR2).

Pretty much a perfect racer for the A.D.D generation. And with the promise of smooth in and out MP this time it has awesome potential.

It's a racing game that also allows you to avoid the races and just drive around if you feel like it. If you feel like racing, just pull up to one and initiate it.

Launch trailer suggests, the game already launched... which it didn't... sadly... I'm sad... soooo sad :(

Suggests to me that MS is gonna push it hard which makes me happy. 3 weeks till it is out and they are getting the Hype Train on the track!

If this is like Horizon 1, the difference between photos/replays and in-game is practically indistinguishable.

He's not talking about that. He's saying that they cut a trailer from in game footage, and then go in and tweak things further. Improved anti aliasing, enhanced motion blur, etc. Meaning that trailer is not exactly representative of the actual game.

Loved the first. I'll be there for this one, too.

Ah, well, the Gamersyde video clearly exhibits some minor aliasing and tiny imperfections. I don't think those would have been left in had this been glossed up in post. It looks like the real deal. Youtube vids and gifs are obviously always very kind to the image quality in terms of hiding things like that.

Don't mean to get all dramatic but...

This game speaks to me on so many levels.

My dream racer (with my preferred Physics) in my dream location with my dream music.

Seriously, this is like taking a sunset-cruise in Southern Italy with Digitally Imported radio vocal trance station blaring.

I can not wait for this game.

I'm gonna say that that's the best driving game vid/trailer I've seen since GT5's Spec II intro.

Top class. Kudos to whoever cut it together.

Do we have proof of this?

Fucking GOTY, again...

Can´t get over how good it looks.

Didn´t know how deep customization goes - amazing.

I once said that a single game, no matter how good it looks, is not enough to make me want to buy a console.

I take that back.

I'm basically witnessing my dream racer come to life.

This and Halo just might make me get an xbox sooner than I had planned. Looks so good.

Driveclub has the visuals but this game definitely looks like it has the fun.

Horizon is a more arcade like experience set in an open world. Out of races you can drive around freely while challenging other drivers on the road. Races are your usual track deal but the tracks are all from the world and sometimes you end up racing against planes and other various transports. You can also find hidden cars, signs to lower parts cost and seek out car designs in the online livery deal.

I say arcade but it still has that smooth driving of Forza. It's not burnout or need for speed where you are sliding all over the place.

Awesome, sounds a lot more interesting than regular Forza/GT type game :)

After the wonder that was the original Horizon, this is my potential GOTY. If it hits on it's promises this could be a damn fine game.

Oh definitely. I always wanted to get into a racing series, like really get into it, but sims never did that for me. I like sim Forza but Horizon hits that sweet spot.

Goddamn Microsoft and your stupid wheel policy, of not allowing us to use our perfectly fine 400+ euro wheels we already purchased for your previous platform. If it wasn't for that, I'd be so hyped for this game right now. Forza Horizon was a great first attempt at open world Forza and this seems to only improve on that foundation.

Do we have proof of this?

Of course not. But things do look suspiciously fantastic at times.

Not saying it's a big deal. Publishers do this sort of thing all the time.

I mean, look at this screenshot. It's incredibly clean, and that motion blur on the train is incredibly good.

Best racer of the year right here.

Other racers don't stand a chance, they'd really be better off delaying so as to avoid getting caught in this tremendous games headlights.

We've got a community event happening at Playground Games tomorrow which should be excellent fun. Expect some hands-on impressions on the day from the UK Forza YouTubers and community members who attend :)

Looks fucking grouse.

As a PS4 and 360 owner (FH1 played and adored), this is the only time I've ever felt like the next-gen grass is greener on the other side.

Will I be able to settle for the 360 version? I really don't know about that.

No dynamic weather in the 360 version, so it'll only be the second-greatest racer of all time.

The McLaren P1 and Lamborghini Huracán driving together was a nice touch.

Super excited for this game; I'm just hoping a bundle gets announced so I don't have to wait a month for Sunset Overdrive.
