Some SQEX rep didn't want to confirm it for Day 1, but that hardly means anything. Reps only know & tell us what they are told to tell us. If they haven't been told the specifics of the demo or they've been told not to tell about them, then they aren't going to be able to tell more, even if they have nailed down an exact date for the demo. It could be day 1, a week or two later or 2-3 months later.

It's not a paid demo, it's included with the purchase of Type-0 HD.

This was leaked. We were likely supposed to get the date and demo announcement at Square's stage show where they'd show the demo. Sony had Type-0 HD on their website, so that was our first sign that it would be there.
