Final Fantasy XV TGS 2014 Trailer | Lord Nomura giveth us His only Son so we may live

Judging from trailer, it's rather dark, I hope that's not how all dungeons look.
otoh, nice trailer, but no released date still?! that stopped be funny 5 years ago, still isn't...

Those guys look too 'popular' and 'edgy' to me in a realistic, serious way and they all look the same. Final Fantasy wasn't about that and usually had a very varied cast of characters. At least my favorite entries did.

Yeah, I miss PSOne FF so much. After that everything went downhill.

Well, I said Kingdom Hearts x Dark Souls, not that it's exactly like Dark Souls. Just that it's basically something in between Kingdom Hearts' faster-paced super-flashy combat and Dark Souls' more weighty stuff. There's obviously a lot more weight to Noctis' movements & attacks (especially when using heavier swords) than pretty much anything in any KH, but there's some more KH-like stuff in the combat as well (jumping higher in the air and the zero-shift stuff).

It looks like KH1 weightiness to me. Which is great news, because KH1 is my favorite action RPG.

There's a good reason for that. SE has been heavily recruiting western talent in theirTokyo studios for over a year now. They've got a size able population of western Devs now including people who previously worked for Naughty Dog and Bungie. Many hardly speak any Japanese and, if it's anything like the situation at From Software, they've probably hired people to serve as intermediaries and translators between the Japanese teams and the western teams. They're making a concerted effort to follow through with their goals of truly international development. Should be interesting to see the fruit such a pursuit bears.

Very interesting. KojiPro has done the same thing. Sounds promising.

Should also help this is Nojima who's writing this and Nojima wrote FNC lore.

Nojima last wrote some garbage that included
erotica and Tidus getting his head blown off.

I'm not particularly worried about FFXVs' story, but I'm done invoking that guys name for a while.

Very interesting..I didn't know that at all.

So FFXV has international talent behind and Fromsoftware does that too ?

I remember a place called "West Insomnia" in a old Versus XIII trailer. I don't think there will be a name change. Looks like it's just an area within the Lucis Kingdom.

My guess as well (Insomnia will be an area within it), we've got Lucis as part of Noctis and Regis' names for obvious reasons and it was only a year ago since the last trailer, even if some things have changed again I doubt something this fundamental to the locations did. If this were a minor city/Kingdom, sure, but this is obviously one of the main ones. Would be weird to me, especially as long as Nojima is there finishing writing it.

How do the people look the same at all? They are all men and their clothes are mostly black, that's about as far as their similarities go in the looks department. Their hair, body-types, faces & clothes are all different.

Video looks great, but why are the dudes in the car all wearing the same outfit? Are they all wearing black to be edgy or are they in a motorcycle gang?
They aren't wearing the same outfits, they are completely different. They are all dominantly black clothes, but they aren't the same at all. You're blind if you think so. One is wearing a casual suit, one a short-sleeved jacket with a t-shirt underneath, another a leather vest and one a sleevless shirt.

There is literally no one else in that world who looks like her. She's deliberately designed to be distinctive.
Just because she stands out to us doesn't mean Noctis has never-ever seen anyone similar. And, again, he & she were really young. I have trouble remembering some people who were in the same class for (over) 4 years from when I was 9-15 years old, so I don't think it would have been some cardinal sin of storytelling to make Noctis not recognize her.

But whatever, that storyline might've been changed to be something completely different now so it probably doesn't matter what was going on with Stella in past trailers.

Still not impressed with the ongoing sausage fest

but the general art direction still looks amazing and the music is expected Shimomura beautiful

I adore the ending subtitle, too. Self jabs are always fun.

Next week's Famitsu is going to have a huge feature on Type-0 HD and XV, including interviews. It's going to be really interesting to see who they interview and what they say. :)

nothing significant but the logo color for JP trailer and EN trailer is a bit different

JP

EN

Can't wait.

Hype!

Hopefully they explain Nomura leaving the project instead of this PR nonsense =/

Will we start getting some real infos about gameplay and stuff?
Or it'll be half about Nomura's departure and half about the theme of the game and just story details?

The main cast are like a Nomura cosplay group, he has imposed too much of his own style on them and they don't look like 'Final Fantasy' characters to me. The main character is essentially Nomura himself:

If someone said something equivalent about females, they'd be ripped apart on the spot. I don't think it's respectable to equate a character or person to a piece of food that bears some similarity to a bodily organ.

There probably won't be any info about gameplay and stuff for FFXV. It's still too early in the PR cycle. I think most of the coverage will be on Type-0 HD with a lot of positive spin for the XV demo being the FIRST CHANCE to play the LONG AWAITED game, etc.

Probably some kind of airship.

Speaking of airships, if they kept the airship controllable, I think it'll probably be like in DQVIII where you control the airship in a miniaturised version of the world and upon landing the game will load you to that specific spot.

Yeah, I think the blue is the engine of the ships.

They should atleast announce a damn release date for the demo. I don't have the patience to deal with the wait for the announcement of the release date of the demo of a game that I am still waiting for an announcement of the actual release date.
