Final Fantasy XV TGS 2014 Trailer | Lord Nomura giveth us His only Son so we may live

Wow, I'm impressed. And the demo is actually coming in March? Nice!
Stella looks younger now, I got so used to her old face I'm not sure how I feel about this one yet.
Lol at Noctis' last couple of lines.

While a HUGE fan of Final Fantasy, am I the only one being disappointed with this trailer? We don't know much about the game, but that whole "teleport" thing looks like a whole mess to me... anyone care to explain in case I missed something? Even the battle system looks like won't be anything too good due to the fact you still have to move over different commands in a kind-of menu... while the game is an ACTION game and you WON'T have the time to actually move through all of the menus just to get to an action...

I don't know, maybe I'm looking at things from a different angle... I was as excited as you guys where when the game was first announced at E3, but since then I've been wondering about many of the things that aren't still explained, and I can't find a reason as why Final Fantasy XV would be ANY good as of now... :(

Kingdom Hearts does it good and it's a much faster paced game.

No it isn't, the color in the background is the texture under the grass and you can clearly see that the LOD system stops the grass around there. The texture under the grass should be the same shade of green.

No I think it is supposed to look barren. there are other instances where it is green all the way, like in the forest.

This is not the era of infinite draw distance, but there could certainly be better ways of handling it?

This and the sub-1080p appearance and/or jaggies are about the only things I could complain about.

Personally I think you are mistaken. If you rewatch the trailer, you will see that there are several different types of grass used in each of the landscape scenes. Watching the video, there is no evidence that the LOD system is causing the change in color. In fact, another scene confirms that even up close there is a lighter and a darker color of grass.

Basically this. If you've gone near a desert where there were patches of grass you will see something that looks like what they've designed.

I remain a little skeptical. Considering the original information was a download voucher was packaged with Type-0, not the demo itself, (which the article does go on to say later on, update aside) it seems like it could be a simple, honest mistake.

If Square Enix themselves announce it, I'll shut up.

Well, the Japanese sites like Famitsu seems to imply the demo is inlcuded in Type-0 release. They didn't mention DL voucher so I think DL could be for US/EU thing.

This trailer and Type-0 HD, I can't take this. Square is alive again for me.

The scene with Stella looks incredibly real.

I don't remember the last I was so excited for a Final Fantasy trailer.

High five Japan!

Holy shit! I've never played more than 5 hours of all Final Fantasy games combined, but this game might change that. Some of it looked a little rough but for the most part it looks absolutely beautiful and the gameplay parts look incredible.

The battle system has already been proven with KH. It's also not an action game, it's a JRPG with real time combat.

Something feels different from KH, though... I don't even know myself what it is, but I'll try to go back to the trailers and let you know what really bothers me about it, it's not it being real time by the way, but the way it is controlled.

Your last sentence, does it mean that you'll find enemies on the field and THEN enter the battle once you touch them? If so, that's even worse, IMHO.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Battle System looked perfectly fine, again, if it's anything similar to it, it'll be fine to me. But still, this "teleport" thing still bothers me :/

I know I'm so late on this, but that meta statement at the end. I really appreciate that.

I like how it has a very different feel to it, but still seems like a grand adventure in many ways.

I'm actually quite happy with how the combat looks.
It's like KH with a big of Witcher in there with the whole dodging stuff.
I'm quite excited about the combat.

Hajime Tabata and his team are a bunch of really talented people and Final Fantasy XV is in good hands for the rest of its development but even if you don’t want to believe me, you can find out for yourself on 20th March 2015 when you can play Final Fantasy XV for yourself along with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.

It's almost time. Nice trailer. TSG this year is actually delivering.

In that very same GIF you can see the grass popping in and out at the edges of the screen in the distance. All other shots show that color is the ground texture under the grass and you can clearly see the LOD line in every shot with grass and a long sight line.

I didn't say it should have an infinite draw distance, I said the green for the ground texture should match the actual grass.

EDIT:
Wait, Type 0 is 60 bucks? Fuck, I thought it'd be 40...

wow....its so beautiful, I got goosebumps watching that trailer. That ending though, they always seem to throw in some dialogue that fits with the status of this game. I cannot fucking wait for this game, and that demo is going to be the most abused demo I ever get.....I probably won't ever stop playing it.

I hope it will be, I'm as excited as anyone in here could be, I just hope this won't bring the franchise to an even deeper bottom than it already is, there are still too many things that won't convince me :(

I wouldn't mind them releasing the game with JP voices and ENG subs ,but i imagine they will or have started the english voicing process.
It's funny, but I actually just noticed that it'll be weird to here any kind of English voices in this. I might prefer Japanese simply because the characters all actually look Japanese. It would be like dubbing a live action Japanese movie, it'd feel off. Do FF games have dual audio?
"For the millionth time, I DON'T want to go on a fucking road tri-"
"SHUT THE F*CK UP AND GET IN THE BOOT"
Noctis:*laughs*.
(Notice the appropriate bro-attire)

Same situation, even if it isn't as good as XenoCross, I actually am looking forward to this a lot now. I just want what it is offering, a journey with sweet graphics and decent story. That's all really, even if it is "cinematic", it looks the part. I could learn to love a Japanese Uncharted :).

There's no battle transition.

The teleport was part of traversal and battle mechanics exclusive to Noctis. It could be used to dodge, basically a more advanced dodge roll, but possibly is limited by resource cost. And obviously it helps to move around much quicker, kinda like grapple hook in Just Cause 2. It's fun.

Yeah, I have seen lots of people who seem to think Square has copied Xenoblade. Those people clearly haven't followed Versus XIII from the start.

What we saw today is what Nomura promised years, YEARS back. Xenoblade obviously was released first, so lots of misinformed people believe FFXV was adapted to a more "Xenoblade-esque" style.

Which is wrong.

Yeah because promises and pictures are the same as fully finished game

I know it's a bit later but HOLY CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP

Amazing trailer! Combat looks vibrant and smooth (I wish they showed my magic though) and oh gawd that music, especially that last bit at the end with the classical FF tune <3333333333

Isn't it a bit worrying that there's no English voice acting or even a release year window for FFXV while they're releasing a demo in 6 months time already?
