"Down Among the Dead Men" is a pirate adventure in which you are the hero. Play as a male or disguised female - as a magician, a thief, a pirate, a governor's daughter - and explore the high seas as you try to build up a crew and a ship hardy enough to take down to black-hearted pirate Skarvench and his ghoulish crew.

I was actually confused after reading an article on "bundles" that will be available with iOS 8. So are the only bundles going to be by devs with their own apps? Or will there be any way for charities like Humble Bundle to utilize it?

Just curious with the success of Android bundles and charities.

Currently, you can only bundle (paid) apps together that are published under the same account.

We've put together a couple of test bundles; one that has Flick Kick Football/Field Goal/Rugby/Aussie Rules; And one that has DreamWorks Dragons: TapDragonDrop and DreamWorks Dash N Drop.

It would be great to be able to bundle apps and other media like movies and/or music, or apps from multiple developers (you can do this latter one on PSN actually).

This looks awful. Only because they insist on using the same name when it's not the same game. I want DX on my phone. I don't want this DX.

This did, however, make me re-download the OG Championship Edition. I flooping love this series.
What's the deal with it? I didn't even know it was on iOS, but I look it up and it says it doesn't work on iOS 8 and doesn't support iOS 7 because of missing save data or something. Shame, because I actually kinda want it now :/

Edit: Looks like that freebie one is on the AU store. Woop!

PS. How does Goat Sim on iOS compare to PC? I own neither.

For those into Adventure Time, we just got our latest game published! https://itunes.apple.com/US/app/id818746835?mt=8

I am not into Adventure Time -only watched like 5 minutes of the show- but I do like Cartoon Network Games -Time Tangle, Sky Safari, Great Prank War, World of Gumball, Mixels, Monsters Stole..., and many others- and Treasure Fetch also looks great, I like Snake gameplay and I am sure you added your own twist to the formula so I just bought it :)

Thanks bro!
P-P-Paid advertising!
I once asked a mod about these kind of posts and he/she said it was ok if it was short bit.
CRY MOAR TUNESMITH!

Fieldrunners 2
Fieldrunners 2 HD

Both are free for the first time at the moment.

probably a really dumb question, but do we know if ipad 'HD' titles will run on iphone 6plus? I mean they run on my ipad mini (which is pretty close to the size of the plus)..just curious

So just a heads up and it's probably been posted, but ALL Game Maker games will not work with iOS8 without a patch. GM hasn't been updated yet with a fix but apparently it's coming this week.

Gah ;_;

edit: update coming up today it looks like.

Mr. Crab got an update yesterday with 'stunning graphic effects using the cutting edge Metal API'. But now performance on iPad Air is severely lacking.

Kind of has me worried about game performance with iPhone 6+.

Thanks bro!

There is something I dont know how to do, "Finish a level at maximum speed"... I would like to know how its done, other than that, I am enjoying it more than I thought I would -good sign-... I like that the controls let me make 2 moves ahead of Jake, is fun and has the Cartoon Network style all around it. I plan on enjoying this one.

Press and hold the 'fast' button in the bottom left corner of the screen.

I feel stupid for not seeing that, its so obvious... thanks!

And now, some Goat Simulator impressions, quoted for no reason:

I didn't know what to expect except a great sense of humor and a game full of Goats. The app description and the patch notes are hilarious. So with this in mind I started the game... first a quick check of the controls, they are great. Check. Then, the game itself. You are now a goat, and as a goat you can destroy everything you want and even disguise yourself as Spidergoat or wear a jetpack. Now the real goats are so jealous of this game for sure. Because it is awesome. Soooo much fun. There are a lot of tricks, a lot of secrets... a lot of everything! And the goat can do a couple of things to, like becoming a rag-doll, jump, lick, ram, etc...

This game is HILARIOUS. Absolute bonkers. Didn't know what to expect and found a really good and extremely fun goat game. This is seriously a Game of the Year candidate. No doubt.

+ Sense of humor
+ Open world-ness
+ Great Controls
+ Humorous secrets
+ Interesting missions achievements
+ A goat in a jetpack!
+ Spider-Goat with super powers!
+ Goats
+ GameCenter
+ Fun

- My iPhone 5 is starting to feel old with this game.
- My iPhone heats up quite a bit on iOS 8

How's your new game coming along, chubigans? Looking forward to seeing what's next!

Asphalt 8 got a Metal update:

Discover the BIGGEST update for Asphalt 8: Airborne since it launched!

- Push the pedal to the Metal! Play on an iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, or on iOS 8-updated versions of iPhone 5s, iPad Air, and iPad mini with Retina display to enjoy AMAZING visual enhancements and enter a new gaming dimension!

- Exclusive Metal Season: Experience the exhilaration of racing against 3 TIMES as many opponents as any other Asphalt game! A season ONLY accessible on iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus or on iOS 8-updated versions of iPhone 5s, iPad Air, and iPad mini with Retina display.

Also badland got "cool new visual enchantments for the 6 and 6 Plus"

Should I be ashamed for looking forward to Asphalt 8 on the 6+? It's actually great fun before the grind begins.

I have no shame in admitting it's one of my favorite games on iOS. Sure, I love to support indies. But I love a good arcade racer and, IMO, A8 is not just a good one but a great one.

I even think it's probably one of the most generous games in terms of content around (whether you got it at $.99 or free). Sure it really pushes IAPs but you can play it almost endlessly without paying a cent.

Asphalt 8 feels smoother now on my iPad Air. The metal season can render something like 25 racers at once, pretty impressive stuff!

I can't start up The World Ends With You after updating to iOS 8 on my iPad mini retina.
There's a note on the iTunes store page for The World Ends With You:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
We have confirmed a bug that prevents this game from running properly on iOS 8, and are currently investigating the matter. We humbly ask for your patience and understanding until the issue is resolved.

Wish there was a list somewhere that has all the games that are taking advantage of Metal. Be curious to see how other games besides A8 have used it (as mentioned earlier in the thread Bioshock should have waited).

Damn, need to somehow make 2 more GBs of space for IOS 8...well, that's not happening any time soon

Yeah, I was not happy that it needed 5.8 gigs free to install. I did mostly to see if it would solve some cellular data issues for me. So far, I don't think it has.

But otherwise, it seems pretty nice so far.

For anyone unable to free up enough space to upgrade to iOS 8, just do it via iTunes on your computer. It doesn't need a lot because the files get stored on your computer instead. It's also faster that way.

I really wish AppShopper would get updated to not only look current, but also to be universal.

ahahahahaha I'm so never updating my iPad 2 to iOS8. It stays jailbroken on 7 where I know everything works. Updating my iPhone 4 to iOS7 was the worst idea I ever had.

Thanks. I didn't think to check the store page for whatever reason. I assumed it wouldn't start due to iTunes crapping out halfway through the installation of iOS 8. This is good news, though. I really didn't wanna start all over.

That said, I'm also no longer having issues with my wallpaper like I was on iOS 7. Glad that's finally resolved.

Finally got IOS 8, videos on the store pages is probably my favorite addition

What third party keyboard would you recommend? I just got SwiftKey to start, is there a better one?

Not very impressed that the new Jetpack Joyride update adds a vehicle that you can only earn by buying it with real cash.

Updated my iPad Air and my iPhone 4S to iOS8.

Tried the Zen Garden metal demo...looks cool and shows a lot of potential, but I was much more impressed by the Citadel Demo back in the days.

Edited: I just became aware of this and looking I found two paid apps: one called Felsky Keyboard - Happy Typing and another called Swype by Nuance Com. (iTunes rating of 3 out of 5). Sorry I can't post links now. So now I have to decide between those and none as they take up to 20% of battery alone.

Swype is kiiiind of famous for being the ones to popularize the slide-finger-over-keyboard input style that everyone else has since emulated. In Android circles (where it was in kind-of-closed beta for many, many years) the name has become synonymous with the input style, much like Kleenex and Band-Aid are synonymous with their respective products in the US.

Swiftkey is working fine for me and I already feel used to it.

The key thing for me in this update is the battery life page. I'm hoping the extra visibility really makes devs worry about it a bit more.
