If I already own a 280X and a i7 4600k is it worth upgrading at this moment? :/ I feel silly right now.
No, don't bother.
Seriously, just wait for whatever card is the best when The Witcher 3 is released in Feb.

Do you mind doing some single card benches?
The order finally went through. Hoping for a Monday delivery![]()
Still waiting for the Evga benchmarks. Curious for the performance difference between the 970 SSC ACX 2.0 and 980 stock. Anyone posted about a review about them yet?

Just don't unplug it from the motherboard as you might have multiple controllers, and you're golden.
I only game on a 1080p monitor should I be worried :/ ?
Considering the price of the Titan and then the 980, it's really not a good upgrade. The resale value of the Titan is going to tank now. Who would pay anywhere close to even half for something slower.
I doubt it will work like that.About those promotions where buying a new cards gives you codes for some games, I know nVidia hasn't announced anything yet, but in case they do, do you think that early adopters will be able to take advantage of it too? I don't know how they handeld it previously.
I mean, in the past, if you bought a card before they announced the game partnership, were you able to get the games? Like I don't know, by sending nVidia a copy of the receipt maybe.

I doubt it will work like that.
And I doubt they will even offer much, if anything. They aren't really in any need of adding incentives. They've got the most powerful card on the market and also the best value one. Pretty much sells itself.

All I wanted is run most games 1080p on ultra 60 fps, GTX 970 won't disappoint right!!?

I was planning to do this later down the line but ordered the MSI one for now. Think I'll be good anyway? I never had a SLI or Crossfire running.
There doesn't appear to be any reference 970s, there are some blowers but they look really cheap. Are blowers really that important for SLI? These open air coolers seem to provide way more cooling than the cards need. And they're so quiet that even if you have to turn up the case fans a bit I imagine you'll probably have a quieter system overall anyway.

So when should we expect the Ti versions to be released (these would be the 20nm right?)?
We cannot be sure about that. Ultra settings are a perennially moving target, there will always be some settings which very high-end single setups won't be able to run at 60fps even at 1080p.
It's up to the user to know what to ask from his hardware.
As Alexandros said PS4-like settings at 60fps should be achievable with ease in GPU bound situations.
Nice I'm looking forward building my pc soon this baby will be mineAll signs point to yes.
Is the 560 even on that chart? That 560ti to 970 upgrade.
That 560ti to 970 upgrade.
Damn mine still says packagingMine shipped today via UPS. Maybe I will get it tomorrow.
Really disappointed in how EVGA's 970s seem to perform in terms of noise/temps. Thankfully, I can afford to wait a few months to see if they change the cooler or figure out some other way to lower the temps.
If they're on 20nm, Fall 2015 perhaps? But then again we might never see Ti versions and they just go to 1000 series.
I have a Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 that I got for $350. Should I sell it and get a 970? Is it worth it, or wait for die shrink, or whatever AMD has in store next?
Yup. Apparently it still overclocks well, but other coolers are better at handling temps and have fans that turn off below a certain temperature treshold. Is this with the ACX cooler?
