So in order to level up past 20 I need to have new armor that uses Modes of Light? So am I supposed to cram modes up my ass and then put on some new armored slacks? Im pretty confused on how this works.

Nah armor will already come with Light stats on it. So for example, say you pick up a rare helm, it might say "Light +8". That amount of light is basically your XP past 20, so those light stats stack when you equip multiple armor pieces that have light on them. Motes of Light are currency used to buy legendary items from the Speaker and exotic engrams from Xur.

All of the save stuff is tied to your psn/xbl account and stored on Bungie's servers, or so it seems.

No saves on the system huh? Then yeah, it's just all tied to their servers connected to your PSN name.

I found a chest last night that had 10 spirit blooms, 250 glimmer, a rare engrem and an Ascendant shard in it.

Was blown away.

I got one of those chests also.. ended up getting the legendary rocket launcher from it.

Yea i maxed out my marks 2days ago,so now all i do is bounties but when i complete them i have nothing else to do, the strike playlust only gives me 25 in rep -_-.

Yep, once I max my marks, my day is basically:

1. Heroic Story
2. Bounties

Then I have nothing else to do, unless I start farming for engrams or materials(never again). Crucible and Strikes don't give enough rep to hold my attention for long.

Any new rep earned is that factions rep.

I thought raids are the weekly and daily thingies that are popping up on the left of the screen

The raid is the Vault of Glass. it is the toughest and most elite content in the game by far. There's only one.

on the left you have your:
-bonus xp pvp mode
-daily heroic story mission
-weekly heroic strike mission
-weekly nightfall strike mission

aside, I'm starting to chuckle at all the requests to make rewards more generous.

it's important to remember that once you reach the vendor buy ranks you have then unlocked permanently. saying "strikes should give you more rep than a five minute patrol" is a little silly because strikes are primarily for marks. 10.5 tiger strikes gets you enough marks for a legendary armor piece. 5000 patrol missions gets you zero marks. The fact that you also slowly get rep from strikes is just a bonus.

also, the weekly cap on marks. if you are the kind of person that has the time to greatly exceed it each week I totally sympathize. an artificial gate has been set upon you. However, this gate is the only thing giving people who don't have that time the slightest hope of coming anywhere close to keeping up. I don't predict them raising it.

it's just important to remember that while I as an individual want lots of things and want them asap, it wouldn't necessarily be good for the game if all of us were level 30 right now.

Xur is in the North Tower this weekend. Bungie has apparently programmed him to be in a different area each time he visits.

(Enter the North Tower from the bottom floor, head down the entrance stairs and go to your right)

And I'm missing one strange coin in order to buy something. FML.

Any idea what's the best way to farm this? I've heard it was the weekly strike and I've done that.

The hard level options for any story missions are based on the base level of that story mission (i.e. what level it was presented at as "normal" pre-20).

Pretty sure that is just saying another player is nearby. Manackk being the online ID of the player that is near.

The was another player called Manackk near by. You get those messages all the time.
