Has anyone seen the Gunsmith selling a rare fusion rifle?
I can't for the life of me complete this exotic bounty for 10 fusion rifle dismantles. The cryptarch keeps screwing me even though I'm level 13 with him. Just about to give up and buy them if the Gunsmith ever sells them. All my rare's stay rare unless it's a secondary, then he makes them green. What a dick....

Neoism, got your friend request, clicked on it and it's just disappeared. I guess due to the DDoS attacks, the friend request system is broken and I've pretty much given up. It's maybe worth sending me your PSN ID so we can play together some time in the week when PSN starts to become a bit more reliable.
I managed to somehow become friends with AbyssalCore but he still doesn't appear under my friends list roster in Destiny so I can't invite him to my fireteam.
I'm resolved to a defeat, the last half an hour I've been wading through vanishing friend requests and getting my arse handed to me in the very first section of the strike while trying to solo it. I'm going bed. Hopefully I can add you guys tomorrow so we can play this time next week.

So I just grabbed a few legendaries from the Crucible vendor finally. I feel so underwhelmed. Every vendor, the crucible, each faction, all the legendaries they sell only have 18 Light on them. It put me at half way to 26, from almost 25. Everyone who is on my friends list who is over 25 has legendaries that are 20+ Light. Did they just get lucky and find those from engrams or something? Why does the stuff each vendor sell lack in comparison to what else is out there? I can't believe I didn't notice this before. Kind of off-putting. I was so excited to get two new legendaries, lol.

I believe you have to upgrade them for more light.

Upgrade each of them. You should be able to reach 26 easily with all legendaries/exotic without having to spend ascendant shards. Now if you want to reach level 27, you might have to spend some ascendant shards. But you'll have to use them for a bit, get their 'free' shield upgrades, each gives you +2 light.

start using fusion rifles. shotgun people aren't a problem if you lead them away from close spaces if they're waiting for you. I've kicked so much ass in rumble by only using fusion rifle.

Yes, they keep disappearing.
A wall opposite of the speaker. In front of what looks to be a giant door. Tower North is the section I believe (could be wrong about that though)
A friend told me he was selling rare fusion rifles really early this morning. He bought some and completed his exotic bounty. He said it was at like 4-5am Eastern.
So he does sell them. Just keep watch for the next time he does.
Been doing that. Rep takes to long because of there are 10 bounties a and that some are to hard to do. and with the cap on marks I can only buy one thing for this week.

That's still pretty grindy, though.
Also, the fact that the best/only way to get top-tier gear reliably is to buy it is... discouraging. It kind of breaks that psychological loop that loot games rely on. That's why you see so many people doing the Skywatch farm, even knowing that it's probably pointless; it still feels better.
It sure says something about your game when people would rather sit outside a cave and shoot the same two enemies for an hour rather than play a mission. There are just so many counter-intuitive decisions made with absolutely no reasonable justification. Require online connections so you can see other players, but interact with them in no meaningful way. Waste precious engrams on items for classes you aren't playing, yet allow no trading or gifting. Make purple engrams extremely rare, yet make a legendary yield unlikely. A blending of genres is supposed to take the best of other genres. You can blame the community for not emphasizing Vanguard/Crucible/Faction reputation, but I'd put the responsibility on Bungie for not properly incentivizing it.
